BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men's soccer, which has posted back-to-back shutout victories over Princeton and Army, respectively, looks in increase its winning streak to three with a non-conference matchup at William & Mary on Tuesday.

Last Time Out

  • Brian Saramago registered his third collegiate hat trick, Justin Ingram totaled a goal and an assist, and Chase Vosvick made a season-high five saves to help Loyola roll past Army by a 4-0 final on Saturday.
  • Ingram opened the scoring on a penalty kick goal 7:10 into the contest, while Saramago struck in the 9th, 80th and 81st minutes.
  • Barry Sharifi, Davey Mason, Jacob Denison and Jonathan Sousa all added assists in the victory.
  • The Greyhounds avenged a 1-0 defeat to the Black Knights in last year's Patriot League semifinals.
  • Loyola finished with a 15-13 advantage in shots, and a 5-3 lead in corner kicks.

Series History

  • William & Mary leads 16-8-6 in a series which dates back to 1978.
  • The Greyhounds are looking for their first win over the Tribe since a 1-0 triumph on Oct. 7, 1998. They are 0-6-3 in the past nine meetings since that victory.
  • Chase Vosvick made a career-high seven saves in the last meeting between the two teams on Sept. 1, 2017, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
  • William & Mary had advantages in both shots (17-8) and corner kicks (10-4) in that contest.

About the Tribe

  • William & Mary (0-4-2) is still searching for its first victory this season after finishing with a record of 6-10-2 (3-3-2 CAA) last fall.
  • The Tribe are coming off a 2-1 defeat at Drexel on Saturday. They are 0-3 on the road and 0-1-2 in home contests.
  • Freshman Alexander Levengood leads the team with three goals, while senior Julian Ngoh has chipped in one goal and two assists.
  • William & Mary, which earned a CAA championship back in 2017, was ranked fourth out of nine schools in the 2019 CAA Preseason poll.
Three More Patriot League Weekly Honors
  • For a second-straight week, Loyola players accounted for three of the Patriot League's five weekly award winners on Monday, as Chase Vosvick repeated as Goalkeeper of the Week, Brian Saramago earned Offensive Player of the Week status and Justin Ingram took home Midfielder of the Week accolades.
  • Vosvick (6x goalkeeper, 3x rookie) was recognized for the ninth time in his Loyola career. He is 14-3-1 lifetime against Patriot League opposition, and he has allowed one goal or fewer in 17 of 18 career starts at home.
  • Saramago received his fifth-career Offensive Player of the Week honor and his seventh weekly award from the conference overall. Twenty of his 29 career goals have come against Patriot League opposition.
  • Davey Mason was also included among the honorable mention selections for the week after recording the primary assist on Saramago's second goal on Saturday. He has points in three-consecutive games (1 G, 2 A).

  • In addition to his Patriot League honor, Brian Saramago was recognized on CollegeSoccerNews.com's Division I National Team of the Week. Saramago was one of 14 players honored across the country.
  • Loyola, which went 7-2 away from Ridley Athletic Complex last season, is searching for its first road victory of 2019.
  • Chase Vosvick's current shutout streak of 180:00 minutes is the fourth-longest of his collegiate career.
