BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men's soccer looks to remain unbeaten at home this season, returning to Ridley Athletic Complex to host #25 Navy at 12 p.m. on Saturday. The women's team follows with a 3 p.m. home matchup against Holy Cross to conclude a Family Weekend doubleheader. Any tickets purchased will be valid for both games.


Quick Notes

  • The Greyhounds have outscored opponents 6-0 at Ridley in 2019, including a 4-0 win over Army in the Patriot League opener for both teams last Saturday.
  • Loyola has a 14-4-2 record at Ridley dating back to the start of the 2017 season.
  • The Greyhounds have posted three-straight shutouts against Patriot League opponents in the regular season, outscoring opponents 6-0 during that span.

  • Navy (8-0-0) is off to its best start since beginning the 1966 season with nine-consecutive victories.
  • At #25 in the latest United Soccer Coaches' Division I poll, the Mids are nationally-ranked for the first time since October, 2014.
  • Navy has won 12 games in a row dating back to last season, the longest current winning streak in Division I.
  • Jacob Williams (5 G, 1 A) leads the team with 11 points, while Nicko West and Matt Nocita have scored three goals apiece. Navy has outscored opponents by a 15-2 margin this season.

Greyhounds vs. The Patriot League
  • Loyola is 21-4-3 (10-2-2 at Ridley Athletic Complex) in the regular season against Patriot League opponents over the past three years under head coach Steve Nichols
  • The Greyhounds are looking for their first postseason Patriot League championship. They were ranked first with 12 out of 20 first-place votes in this year's Patriot League preseason poll.
Three More Patriot League Weekly Honors
  • For a second-straight week, Loyola players accounted for three of the Patriot League's five weekly award winners on Monday, as Chase Vosvick repeated as Goalkeeper of the Week, Brian Saramago earned Offensive Player of the Week status and Justin Ingram took home Midfielder of the Week accolades.
  • Vosvick (6x goalkeeper, 3x rookie) was recognized for the ninth time in his Loyola career. He is 14-3-1 lifetime against Patriot League opposition, and he has allowed one goal or fewer in 17 of 18 career starts at home.
  • Saramago received his fifth-career Offensive Player of the Week honor and his seventh weekly award from the conference after scoring three goals in last Saturday's 4-0 win over Army. Twenty of his 29 career goals have come against Patriot League teams.
  • Davey Mason was also included among the honorable mention selections for the week after recording the primary assist on Saramago's second goal on Saturday. He had points in three-consecutive games (1 G, 2 A) from Sept. 8-21.
