BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland women's basketball wraps up its five-game homestand at Reitz Arena with an 11:30 a.m. Field Trip Day game against Colgate on Wednesday.
Free admission will be offered to all fans in attendance.
Last Time Out
- Cameryn Benz hit a go-ahead jumper for Lehigh with 1.5 seconds left in regulation on Sunday, sending Loyola to a tough 55-53 defeat at Reitz Arena.
- Laryn Edwards, who became the first Greyhound to play all 40 minutes in a game this season, led the home side with 16 points. She went 5 for 11 from the field and 6 for 7 from the free throw line while finishing one point shy of her career high.
- Emily McAteer added 10 points, a season-high nine rebounds, and a pair of blocks. With Loyola trailing 51-45 in the closing minutes, she hit back-to-back 3-pointers to tie the score at 51 apiece with 1:05 remaining in regulation.
- Stephanie Karcz chipped in six points, 10 rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals, as her streak of 10 straight games with 6+ steals came to an end.
- The teams combined for 11 ties and seven lead changes.
Series History
- Colgate leads 7-5 in a series which began with Loyola's arrival in the Patriot League for the 2013-14 season.
- The Raiders have won each of the past three meetings, including a 58-47 victory in the most-recent matchup on Feb. 23 last season.
- Loyola was outscored 33-15 in the second half of that contest after taking a 32-25 lead into the intermission.
- The Greyhounds' last win was a 70-55 home triumph on Jan. 21, 2018. Stephanie Karcz recorded the first triple-double in program history (14 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) in that victory.
Scouting Colgate
- The Raiders (9-4, 1-1 Patriot League) continued their best start in program history with a 100-93 home win over Army on Sunday.
- Colgate set a new single-game team record for FG% (63.3, 38-60) in Sunday's victory, while the 115 combined points in the second half were a new Patriot League record.
- Sr. G Rachel Thompson leads the conference in assist to turnover ration (2.4), and she ranks second in scoring (16.3 ppg), assists (5.2 apg), steals (3.0 spg), FG% (51.5) and FT% (82.2).
- As a team, Colgate tops the Patriot League in scoring offense (71.5 ppg), FG% (44.0), assists (17.3 apg), turnover margin (+5.1) and assist to turnover ratio (1.3).
Karcz Named to National Watch List
- Stephanie Karcz was one of 15 players across Division I selected to the Her Hoop Stats Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch list on Monday.
- Karcz continues to lead the nation with 6.3 steals per game, ranking more than a full steal above her next-closest competitor. One of two Greyhounds to start all 13 games, she also leads the team in points (11.7), rebounds (9.2) and assists (4.2) per game.
- Through 13 games, Karcz has five double-doubles, scoring 10+ points nine times and grabbing 10+ rebounds on seven occasions.
- Karcz is Loyola's all-time record holder with 393 career steals. She is seven thefts away from becoming just the 28th player in DIvision I history to reach 400.
- The DI single-season record for steals per game is 6.4, a mark held by two players.
- Other records potentially within reach include her own single-season steals record (123 in 2018-19) and the Patriot League single-season record of 168, which was established by Lafayette's Heidi Caruso in 1992-93.
McAteer Continues Strong Homestand
- Emily McAteer reached double figures for a second-straight game on Sunday with her 10 points against Lehigh.
- She is averaging 10.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game on Loyola's current four-game homestand, shooting 52.6% (10-19) from 3-point range during that span.
- McAteer is also tied with Hannah Niles for the team lead with a team-high five blocks in the last four contests.
- For the year, McAteer now leads all Greyhound shooters in 3-point FG% (37.1, 13-35). She totaled a season-high 18 points (7-12, FG, 4-8 3FG) in last Thursday's Patriot League opener against Holy Cross.
Quick Notes
- Bri Rozzi is averaging 10.5 points per game during Loyola's current homestand. She has made 13 of 14 free throws during that span and is now shooting 86.2% (25-29) from the charity stripe this season.
- Though she does not have enough field goal attempts to qualify for the NCAA leaderboard, Ava Therien currently leads all Patriot League shooters in FG% (55.6, 40-72).
- With her 40 minutes played on Sunday, Laryn Edwards became the first Greyhound to play the entire game since Bri Betz-White in last year's regular season finale at Boston University.
- Loyola is a perfect 3-0 this season when leading at halftime and when outshooting its opponent.
- Loyola's 55 points allowed to Lehigh on Sunday were its third-fewest in a game this season. The Greyhounds had been 6-0 in their past six games holding opponents under 60 points.
Active Hands on D
- Loyola leads the conference and ranks 11th nationally in steals per game (12.7).
- Loyola set a new season-high with 17 steals on Dec. 31 vs. Dartmouth. The 17 thefts were Loyola's most in a game since Nov. 10, 2017 against Cornell.
- The school record for steals is 18, a mark which has been reached on six separate occasions.

- Loyola returns to the road for the first time since Dec. 8 on Saturday, traveling to Lafayette for a Patriot League matchup beginning at 2 p.m.
