EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette College hit .301 Saturday and defeated Loyola University Maryland in four, 25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 25-10, snapping the Greyhounds' school-record nine-match winning streak.

Abby Hamilton had 17 kills for Loyola, while
Lauren Link added 12 and
Cecylia Guye tallied nine.
Katie Forsythe posted 25 digs for the Greyhounds.

Loyola (12-4 overall, 4-1 Patriot League) led the first set 17-14 after a Hamilton kill, but the Leopards came back to take a 20-19 lead on a block by Alyssa Vitale and Gracie Gibson.

Link sided out for the Greyhounds to tie the score a point later, but Lafayette then reeled off four-straight points to pull away for the set win.

The Greyhounds had an 8-7 advantage in the second, and moments later a Link kill tied the set at 9-9, but Lafayette scored eight of the next nine points to go up 17-10.

Loyola would put up a strong rally to tie the score at 22-22 on a Hamilton kill, and another point by Hamilton tied it at 23-23, but back-to-back kills by the Leopards gave them a 2-0 advantage in the match.

The Greyhounds built a 17-7 lead and never looked back in the third to extend the match to a fourth set, but in that frame, Lafayette (8-6, 5-1) hit .452 and came away with the win.

Loyola returns to Reitz Arena on Tuesday, October 5, to host American University at 5 p.m.
