Women’s Basketball Adds Two to Program on National Signing Day

BALTIMORE – The Loyola University Maryland women's basketball program officially announced the signing of two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2022-23 season on Wednesday. 
 
Ally Lovisolo and Kelly Ratigan will each join the Greyhounds next fall. Lovisolo is a 6-1 forward from Allendale, New Jersey who attends Blair Academy and plays AAU for Team Sharp. Ratigan, a 5-8 guard from South Bend, Indiana, attends Saint Joseph High School and plays AAU for 1 Nation Elite.

"Today marks another step forward for Loyola women's basketball," head coach Danielle O'Banion said. "We fiercely protect our program culture and these two are great fits. We enthusiastically welcome Ally and Kelly to the Greyhound family."

Ally Lovisolo (6-1, F, Allendale, N.J./Blair Academy)

O'Banion on Lovisolo:
 "Ally is a skilled stretch forward with highly regarded leadership skills. She values healthy team culture and is already in the habit of leaving it better than she found it. Ally's addition helps grow our youthful, but talented post group."

Before Loyola: Four-year letterwinner in basketball at Blair Academy … has contributed to two Mid-Atlantic Prep League championships and one Non-Public State title … serves as team captain … member of the All-Star team at U.S. Junior National Championships in Chicago and Maryland … also a one-year high school letterwinner in golf.

Personal: Is the daughter of John and Susanne Lovisolo … has two siblings, Caroline and Chris.


Kelly Ratigan (5-8, G, South Bend, Ind./Saint Joseph)

O'Banion on Ratigan:
 "Kelly is a Hoosier State guard through and through—a shot maker and fierce competitor. She plays with a chip on her shoulder and will immediately raise the competitive spirit in the gym. Kelly's versatility will help us maintain an up-tempo style that is fun to play and watch."

Before Loyola: Earned honorable mention All-State accolades and was named Team MVP following her junior season at Saint Joseph … two-year team captain … has averaged 18 points per game in her first three high school seasons … member of the Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team … played AAU for Always 100 (2018), Indiana Attack (2019-20) and 1 Nation Elite (2021) … contributed to a Super 64 Tournament Championship in 2021 … also a varsity softball member at Saint Joseph.

Personal: Is the daughter of Maura and Brian Ratigan … has four siblings, Sean, Conor, Austin and Reese … was Student Council Class President from her freshman through junior years, and is the overall Student Body President as a senior … SJHS Community Award recipient … NIC Leadership Council member … High Honors student.
