BALTIMORE – Baltimore Catholic League standout Deon Perry signed a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday to become a part of the Loyola University Maryland Class of 2026.
Perry was named to the All-BCL First Team in 2020-2021 after leading Our Lady of Mount Carmel to the Baltimore Catholic League semifinals. The guard reached the 1,000-point mark as a junior and will complete his prep career for the Cougars.
"We are ecstatic to welcome Deon to the Loyola basketball family," said Head Coach
Tavaras Hardy. "It's always great to keep our local stars home. Deon represents Baltimore with pride as one of the premier student-athletes in the area. Off the court, he's an excellent student and well-respected leader, and on the court, Deon is a tremendous scorer, and he is equally talented at distributing and running a team. He is a true lead guard, that will immediately and positively impact winning."
For the Cougars as a junior, he averaged 20 points and five assists per game. Perry was an All-BCL Second Team honoree as a sophomore in 2019-2020 and received honorable mention the year prior following his freshman season.
During the summer, Perry excelled for Mt. Carmel at the DMV Live event at DeMatha Catholic High School, leading all scorers at 27.7 points per game while making 4.8 3-pointers per contest.
He played for Team Melo from 2017-2021, earning All-Breakout Team in the EYBL as his side reached the EYBL Elite 16.
Perry has also been a football and lacrosse standout for the Cougars and has been on the National Honor Society Honor Roll.
