The Matchup
- Loyola women's lacrosse, which is ranked 14th in the IWLCA Coaches' poll and 18th in the ILWomen media poll, hosts Drexel in a non-conference game at 12 p.m. Sunday.
- This will be the fifth meeting all-time between the two sides, and the first since 2002. The game was added after Loyola's Saturday afternoon matchup at Navy was postponed due to restriction of movement at the Naval Academy.
Last Time Out
- Kaitlyn Larsson recorded a career-high 14 saves in goal, and the offense recovered from a slow start to send Loyola to a 9-6 home win over Georgetown on Wednesday.
- Larsson made 10 of her stops in the first half, keeping the Greyhounds in the game as they were kept off the scoreboard until 5:39 prior to the intermission. Loyola outscored the Hoyas (1-2) by a 6-2 margin in the second half after trailing 4-3 at the break.
- Sam Fiedler supplied a pair of goals, including the game-winning tally with 12:44 remaining, and a career-best four assists.
- Emily Wills added one goal, one assist, and a career-high three caused turnovers.
- Loyola had a 12-5 advantage in draw controls, led by six from Livy Rosenzweig and four from Jillian Wilson.

- Larsson's previous career high saves total was 12, a mark she reached twice during Loyola's 5-0 season last spring.
- Her save percentage has risen in all five starts, including a .600 mark in last Saturday's 21-4 win over American and a .700 percentage against Georgetown.
- Larsson now leads the Patriot League and is ranked 25th nationally in save percentage (.494). She is also 26th in DI in goals-against average (9.61) and she is 20th in total saves (43).

- Loyola leads 4-0 in a series which dates back to 1984.
- The teams met three-straight years from 1984-86, with the Greyhounds winning all three by a combined margin of 46-12.
- The most-recent meeting came on April 14, 2002, which was Loyola's last season (and Drexel's first as a member of the CAA). The Greyhounds topped Drexel by a 19-3 final in that contest.

- The Dragons are off to their first 5-0 start since 2013, outscoring opponents by a combined margin of 89-56 on the year.

- Sr. M Karson Harris (24 G, 4 A, 34 DC, 17 GB, 7 CT) was named to the initial Tewaaraton Award watch list this week. She ranks second in Division I in goals scored, while Sr. A Colleen Grady (18 G, 14 A) leads the nation with 32 points entering the weekend.
- As a team, Drexel ranks third in D1 in both goals per game (17.8) and shot percentage (53.6%). The Dragons have scored at least 13 goals in every game, and they have managed 17+ goals in 4 of 5 contests.
Rosenzweig Milestone Watch
- Livy Rosenzweig has totaled 145 assists in 51 collegiate games, a total which is No. 2 all-time at Loyola (three back of 2015 graduate Annie Thomas) and fourth all-time in the Patriot League (32 behind Navy's Kelly Larkin).
- Rosenzweig has recorded multiple assists in four out of five games this season, and in 42 of 52 collegiate appearances overall.
- Rosenzweig is also No. 7 all-time at Loyola in points (267). She is 10 back of Marlee Paton '14 in 6th and 50 behind former teammate Hannah Powers '19 for the top spot.
Fiedler, Rosenzweig Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List
- Seniors Sam Fiedler and Livy Rosenzweig were each included in the group of 57 initial watch list candidates announced on Thursday for the 2021 Tewaaraton Award. Both were on the 2020 watch list as well, and Rosenzweig was also a Top-25 semifinalist for the award as a sophomore in 2019.
- Fielder leads the Greyhounds with 23 points (16 G, 7 A) and seven caused turnovers. Rosenzweig is just behind with 22 points (11 G, 11 A), and she has also won a team-high 22 draw controls.
- The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the USA. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
Quick Notes from Georgetown
- Loyola earned a victory after trailing at halftime for the first time since March 7, 2018 against Towson, when the Greyhounds were down 11-5 before prevailing 14-13 in triple overtime.
- Kaitlyn Larsson's 14 saves were Loyola's most since Kady Glynn had 15 in a 12-6 win over Towson on March 6, 2019.
- The Greyhounds were a perfect 18 for 18 in clearing attempts, raising their season clear percentage up to 87.0 percent.
- Emily Beier provided one of Loyola's three goals in the first half. She has now scored in three-consecutive games.
- Sydney Foster picked up her first point of the season, as she set up a goal from Anna Ruby which tied the score at 5-5 midway through the second half.
Defense Stepping Up
- Loyola's defense has held opponents to single digit scoring totals in each of the past three victories, with the Greyhounds allowing a total of 16 goals during that stretch.
- Loyola has been particularly stingy in the second half, surrendering only four goals combined after the intermission in its three wins.
- The Greyhounds are now ranked 24th nationally in goals-against average (9.40) on the year.
More Than Just Goals for Fiedler
- Sam Fiedler has totaled a team-high 43 points (32 G, 11 A) over Loyola's last eight games dating back to last season.
- Her four assists on Wednesday were one above her previous career high of three, which she had reached two separate occasions.
- Fiedler also leads the team with seven caused turnovers. She set a new career best with three CT's in last Saturday's win over American.
- Fiedler has 118 goals in 52 games at Loyola, and she has scored at least one goal in 43-straight contests.
Back on Track at Ridley
- After Loyola saw a 12-game home winning streak with its season-opening defeat to Syracuse, the Greyhounds returned to their winning ways at Ridley Athletic Complex with victories over American and Georgetown.
- Loyola is now 76-23 all-time at Ridley since the facility opened in 2010.
- The Greyhounds have a 23-4 record at home dating back to the start of the 2018 season.
Preseason Accolades
- Loyola topped the Patriot League preseason poll for an eighth-consecutive season, with the Greyhounds receiving 162 points and all 18 available first-place votes.
- Livy Rosenzweig was named Patriot League Preseason Offensive Player of the Year for a second time (previously in 2019), while Katie Detwiler earned Preseason Defensive Player of the Year accolades.
- Rosenzweig, Detwiler, Sam Fiedler, Elli Kluegel and Jillian Wilson were all Preseason All-Patriot League selections.
- Rosenzweig and Detwiler were two of US Lacrosse's 13 First Team Preseason All-Americans announced in December.

Condensed Schedule Includes Seven Games at Ridley
- In response to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, Loyola and the Patriot League have instituted several changes to the 2021 lacrosse schedule.
- Consistent with the prioritization of health and safety, the 13-game schedule features reductions in travel and overnight stays. Loyola has six non-conference opponents currently on the schedule, with four taking place at Ridley Athletic Complex and the other two short trips to Towson and Villanova.
- The Patriot League is split into two five-team divisions, with Loyola grouped in the South with American, Bucknell, Lehigh and Navy.
- The top two teams in each division advance to the PL tournament, with semifinal games set for May 6 and the championship scheduled for May 8.
More Rosenzweig Notes
- Livy Rosenzweig became the first Greyhound to earn IWLCA first team All-America accolades since 2012 following a 2019 season in which she broke program records in both points (116) and assists (70).
- She ranked third in Division I in assists, and she was fourth nationally in points that season. She also helped Loyola lead DI as a team in both total assists (197) and assists per game (9.38).
- Rosenzweig has totaled 5+ points in 32 of 52 collegiate games, including 4 of 5 contests in 2020. She has recorded multiple points in 51 of 52 appearances.
Kluegel Excels On, Off Field
- Senior Elli Kluegel was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team for a second-consecutive season on Feb. 4. Her 15 goals ranked third on the team in 2020, and she currently has 86 goals in 52 career appearances.
- Off the field, Kluegel continues to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in biology. A two-time COSIDA Academic All-District honoree, she was also an Academic All-Patriot League selection in 2019.
