Last Season

  • After a challenging schedule which included multiple 2018 NCAA tournament teams influenced a 2-6 start, Loyola went 8-1-2 over its final 11 games in 2019, posting a third-consecutive season with 10+ victories.
  • The Greyhounds went 7-2 vs. Patriot League opponents during the regular season. They were edged 5-4 on PK's by Lafayette in the conference semifinals after the teams played to a 0-0 draw.
  • Included in the late season run was a 1-1 draw at #2 Wake Forest, a team which ultimately advanced to the Final Four.
  • Brian Saramago, Barry Sharifi and Chase Vosvick were all 1st Team All-Region selections, while Josh Fawole (2nd Team) and Davey Mason (3rd Team) also achieved All-Region status.

New Look Greyhounds Set to Take the Field
  • Loyola enters the 2020-21 season without several familiar faces, as the Greyhounds will need to replace six departed seniors (Brian Saramago, Barry Sharifi, Josh Fawole, Davey Mason, Nico Brown, Morgan Lussi) who all saw extensive playing time in 2019.
  • The 2019 senior class went 41-23-7 during its four years on campus, including a 27-6-3 mark against Patriot League opposition.
  • Daniel Osuji, the 2019 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, also departs after signing a contract with Spanish Segunda División side AD Alcorcón.
  • Preseason All-Patriot League honorees Justin Ingram, Jonathan Sousa and Chase Vosvick headline the returners.

  • A three-time first team All-Region goalkeeper, Vosvick has a 29-16-4 record with 19 shutouts, a .724 save percentage and a 1.04 GAA across 50 appearances. He enters the spring season with a career-long shutout streak of 303 minutes.
  • Other returning starters include midfielder Sam Brown (Second Team All-PL in 2018) and defenders Jacob Denison (2x Academic All-PL) and Kristinn Pétursson.

  • Other returners in the midfield for Loyola include senior Eddy Rodriguez (17 gp/8 gs, 3 A in 2019), sophomore Albert Kang (19 gp/2 gs, 1 A) and senior TJ Walker (12 gp/1 gs).
  • Loyola's first two games of the spring, road contests at Navy (March 6) and Bucknell (March 13) were postponed due to health and safety protocols. The Navy matchup has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 30, with a 7 p.m. start time in Annapolis.
