BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland volleyball came back from a two-set deficit to force a fifth set Sunday against Lehigh University, and the Greyhounds took a 12-11 lead in the final stanza, but the Mountain Hawks rallied for a 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 15-25, 15-13 Patriot League victory in Reitz Arena.
Abby Hamilton had 19 kills with just two errors, hitting .304 for the Greyhounds to go with 22 digs, while
Cat Vaccaro and
Lauren Link each added 13 kills.
Mackenzie Fedota had nine kills, and
Cecylia Guye posted six with five total blocks.
Katie Forsythe just missed her third career match with 40 or more digs, finishing with a match-best 39.
Alex Fisher had 28 assists and 14 digs, while

After the Greyhounds hit .294 to Lehigh's .073 in the fourth set, Loyola opened the fifth set by leading at multiple junctures. Neither the Greyhounds nor Lehigh, however, could push past a one-point advantage, and the Mountain Hawks were up 11-10 after a Loyola attack error.
Hamilton snapped off a kill, and a Lehigh attack attempt went long, and the Greyhounds were back up by one.
Lehigh's Lylah Washington and Sophie Robinson, however, locked up a block on the right side for the Mountain Hawks to sideout, and Washington followed with a kill to swing the lead back to Lehigh's favor.
After a Loyola timeout, Hannah Wright and Claire Nagelhout had a block on the left for the Mountain Hawks, giving them a match-point opportunity, but Link extended the match for Loyola with a kill.
Wright, however, put away a kill to finish the win for the Mountain Hawks.
Loyola is scheduled to be back in action with a pair of games next weekend against American. The match against the Eagles is first slated for Reitz Arena on Friday night before the action moves to Washington, D.C., on Sunday.
