The Matchup
- Loyola women's lacrosse, which is ranked 13th in the IWLCA Coaches' poll and 12th in the ILWomen media poll, takes on #21/#17 Navy in a Patriot League South division matchup Wednesday afternoon.
- The Greyhounds (5-2 overall, 2-0 PL, 2-0 South) have won five-consecutive games, including a 21-3 win at Bucknell on March 20, while the Mids (4-0, 1-0, 0-0) are coming off a 13-12 victory over Army on Saturday.
Last Time Out
- Livy Rosenzweig broke the program's all-time career record with the first of her seven assists, and Sam Fiedler matched a career-high with eight points (4 G, 4 A) in Loyola's dominant win over Bucknell.
- Rosenzweig now holds seven program records (career assists, single-season assists and points, single-game assists, and three freshman records: points, assists and draws).
- Jillian Wilson (3 G, 3 A) added a career high six points, while Regan Kielmeyer and D.A. Coss each scored the first two goals of their collegiate careers and Holly Lloyd (3 G) recorded her second collegiate hat trick.

- Livy Rosenzweig's 155 assists have come in just 54 collegiate appearances. She is fourth all-time in the Patriot League, 22 behind all-time leader Kelly Larkin from Navy.
- Rosenzweig has recorded multiple assists in six out of seven games this season, and in 43 of 54 collegiate appearances overall.
- Rosenzweig is also No. 6 all-time at Loyola in points (283). She is one back of Janet Eisenhut '83 in 5th and 34 behind former teammate Hannah Powers '19 for the top spot.
- The Patriot League Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Rosenzweig is a three-time ILWomen All-American (first team in 2020) and a two-time IWLCA All-American (first team in 2019).
Series History
- Loyola leads 9-3 in a series which dates back to the Greyhounds joining the Patriot League back in 2014.
- The two teams have met in each of the last five Patriot League Championship games. Loyola has won three of those five matchups, including a 21-9 victory in the 2019 final on May 7.
- The Greyhounds have won all six regular season meetings, including a 16-6 victory at Ridley on April 6, 2019.
- The other win for Navy in the series was a 19-15 triumph in the second round of the NCAA tournament on May 13, 2018.
Scouting Navy
- The Mids (4-0 overall, 1-0 PL, 0-0 South) returned to action for the first time since Feb. 27 with their comeback victory over Army on Saturday. Navy scored the game's final three goals after trailing 12-10 with less than 11 minutes remaining.
- Nicole Victory provided the game-winner with 3:46 left on Saturday, and the Tewaaraton Award watch list selection leads the team with 18 points (13 G, 5 A) overall on the year.
- VIctory, Regan Roelofs (10 pts, 25 DC, 7 GB) and Gil Eby (4 pts, 7 DC, 5 GB) were all Preseason All-Patriot League honorees.
- Fr. GK Jo Torres was named Patriot League Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week after making 10 saves off the bench during the second half of Saturday's victory.
Patriot League Dominance
- Loyola is 54-0 against Patriot League opponents in regular season play since joining the conference, defeating American and Bucknell by a combined 42-7 in their first two league games this season. That run is the longest active win streak in Division I.
- The NCAA record for consecutive conference wins is a 61-game streak by UMass in Atlantic 10 play which began in 2011 and ended on April 22, 2018.
- The Greyhounds claimed Patriot League championships in each of their first three years in the conference (2014-16), and added a fourth postseason title in 2019.

- Loyola had an 18-7 edge in draw controls, with Livy Rosenzweig (10) and Jillian Wilson (5) combining for 15 of the 18 draws. Rosenzweig matched a career-high, reaching double figures for the first time since Feb. 25, 2018.

Quinn Earns Second Patriot League Weekly Award
- Meaghan Quinn was chosen as the Patriot League's Defensive Player of the Week for a second time this season after totaling two caused turnovers and one ground ball at Bucknell.
- After missing the previous three games, Quinn was matched up against Bucknell's Katie Wendell in her return to the lineup. She held Wendell, who had 11 points in the Bison's first two games, to no points on just one shot.
- Quinn has caused multiple turnovers in 3 of 4 appearances this spring, and she leads the team in both GB (2.0) and CT (1.75) per game.
Larsson Rising up Goalie Rankings
- Kaitlyn Larsson has put up impressive numbers in goal recently, posting a 5-0 record with 43 saves, a 6.31 GAA and a .581 save percentage during Loyola's current winning streak.
- She has held opponents to single digit scoring in 4 of 5 victories, posting a career-high 14 saves during a 9-6 win over Georgetown on March 6.
- For the season as a whole, Larsson is 14th nationally (3rd in the PL) with an 8.97 GAA, and she is 17th nationally (1st in the PL) with a .496 save pct.
- Larsson is 13-2 overall in her career (8-1 vs. ranked opponents) with an 7.88 GAA, .541 save percentage and 186 saves.
National Rankings Update
- After having a bye week in its Patriot League schedule, Loyola maintained its No. 13 ranking in the IWLCA Coaches' poll, while the Greyhounds rose one spot to No. 12 in the ILWomen media rankings.
- Loyola has been ranked as high as No. 4 in the IWLCA and No. 5 in the ILWomen polls this season. The Greyhounds were No. 3 in all national polls at the conclusion of the 2020 season.
Detwiler Continues to Perform Defensively
- Katie Detwiler supplied three draw controls in Loyola's win at Bucknell, and she held the Bison's leading goal scorer (defending PL Midfielder of the Week Julia Bradbury) without a single shot on the afternoon.
- Detwiler earned her second Patriot League Defender of the Week of 2021 (sixth overall) on March 15 after a pair of shutdown performances on Georgetown's Michaela Bruno (0 pts, snapping 23-game streak) and Tewaaraton Award watch list candidate Karson Harris from Drexel (1 G on 3 shots).
- The 2021 Patriot League Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and a 2020 Tewaaraton Award watch list honoree, Detwiler has started all 33 games in her collegiate career, totaling 41 draws, 40 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers.
Fiedler, Rosenzweig Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List
- Seniors Sam Fiedler and Livy Rosenzweig were each included in the group of 57 initial watch list candidates announced on March 11 for the 2021 Tewaaraton Award. Both were on the 2020 watch list as well, and Rosenzweig was also a Top-25 semifinalist for the award as a sophomore in 2019.
- Rosenzweig leads the Greyhounds with 38 points (17 G, 21 A) and 39 draw controls. Fiedler is just behind with 37 points (25 G, 12 A), and she also leads the team with 11 caused turnovers.
Preseason Accolades
- Loyola topped the Patriot League preseason poll for an eighth-consecutive season, with the Greyhounds receiving 162 points and all 18 available first-place votes.
- Livy Rosenzweig was named Patriot League Preseason Offensive Player of the Year for a second time (previously in 2019), while Katie Detwiler earned Preseason Defensive Player of the Year accolades.
- Rosenzweig, Detwiler, Sam Fiedler, Elli Kluegel and Jillian Wilson were all Preseason All-Patriot League selections.
- Rosenzweig and Detwiler were two of US Lacrosse's 13 First Team Preseason All-Americans announced in December.

- Livy Rosenzweig became the first Greyhound to earn IWLCA first team All-America accolades since 2012 following a 2019 season in which she broke program records in both points (116) and assists (70).
- She ranked third in Division I in assists, and she was fourth nationally in points that season. She also helped Loyola lead DI as a team in both total assists (197) and assists per game (9.38).
- Rosenzweig has totaled 5+ points in 34 of 54 collegiate games, and she has recorded multiple points in 53 of 54 appearances.
Kluegel Excels On, Off Field
- Senior Elli Kluegel was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team for a second-consecutive season on Feb. 4. Her 15 goals ranked third on the team in 2020, and she currently has 91 goals in 54 career appearances.
- Off the field, Kluegel continues to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in biology. A two-time COSIDA Academic All-District honoree, she was also an Academic All-Patriot League selection in 2019.
