The Matchup

  • Loyola women's lacrosse, which is ranked 11th in both the IWLCA Coaches' and ILWomen media polls, hosts Bucknell at Ridley Athletic Complex on Friday night.
  • The Greyhounds topped the Bison by a 21-3 final in the first meeting between the two sides this season on March 20.

Last Time Out

  • Livy Rosenzweig finished with a team-high six points and eight draw controls, six Greyhounds scored multiple goals and Amber Bustard made key saves off the bench to help Loyola pull out a 15-11 victory over Lehigh on April 3.
  • The Greyhounds saw a five-goal advantage shrink to one with under 12 minutes left, but scored four of the final six goals to pick up their seventh-consecutive victory.
  • Emily Wills scored a team-high three goals while recording her second-straight hat trick (third overall in 2021).
  • Jillian Wilson filled up the stat sheet with two goals, one assist, five draws, a team-high four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
  • Bustard came on in relief of Kaitlyn Larsson with 22:02 left in regulation, and she made two saves down the stretch to record her first collegiate win in goal.

Senior Night

  • Loyola will be recognizing a combination of three seniors and three graduate students prior to Friday's opening draw, with Emily Beier, Cat Crowley, Caitlyn Gunn, Holly Lloyd, Meaghan Quinn and Liz Scott all honored in a pregame ceremony.
  • The group has continued Loyola's championship legacy, winning a Patriot League title in 2019 and advancing to the NCAA tournament in each of the last two completed seasons.

Back in the Patriot League Tournament

  • With its win over Lehigh, Loyola will officially be returning to the Patriot League tournament for a seventh time in as many seasons since joining the conference in 2014.
  • The Greyhounds have won four Patriot League titles during that span (2014-16, 2019) and are a perfect 56-0 against Patriot League teams in regular season play.
  • The NCAA record for consecutive conference wins is a 61-game streak by UMass in Atlantic 10 play which began in 2011 and ended on April 22, 2018.
  • Loyola is currently in position to finish as the No. 1 overall seed and serve as host for this year's conference tournament. That distinction will go to whichever No. 1 team from the North and South divisions has the highest overall PL win percentage. Loyola is 4-0 in PL play while the current North leader is Army (3-2 PL, 3-0 North).

Series History

  • Loyola leads 16-0 in a series which dates back to 1982.
  • The Greyhounds have outscored Bucknell by a 272-82 margin in their 16 victories, including their 21-3 win earlier this season.
  • Livy Rosenzweig had seven assists and matched a career-high with 10 draws, while Sam Fiedler matched a career best with eight points (4 G, 4 A) and caused a career high four turnovers in the March 20 victory.
  • Jillian Wilson added a career-high six points (3 G, 3 A), and 11 different players scored overall.
  • The closest matchup between the sides since Loyola joined the Patriot League in 2014 was a 13-7 win for the Greyhounds in 2016.

Scouting Bucknell

  • The Bison are coming off back-to-back victories over American (17-15 on April 3) and Colgate (13-11 on April 10).

  • Bucknell was ranked ninth out of 10 schools in this year's Patriot League preseason poll. The Bison were 3-5 during the shortened 2020 season and 4-13 (2-7 PL) back in 2019.
  • Bucknell's last winning season came in 2017 (9-8 overall, 4-5 PL).
