The Matchup

- The game was added to Loyola's schedule after its original contest vs. Navy on Saturday was cancelled due to Patriot League division requirements for the Mids.
Last Time Out
- Livy Rosenzweig became the third in team history to reach 300 career points, Emily Wills notched a season-high six points and Liz Scott recorded her first collegiate hat trick on her Senior Day as Loyola posted a dominant 20-3 victory over Bucknell last Friday.
- The Greyhounds won their eighth in a row and completed a season sweep of the Bison.
- Sam Fiedler and Jillian Wilson both scored twice in a 7-0 Loyola run to begin the contest. Wilson finished with four points (2 G, 2 A) and four draw controls in the win.
- Kaitlyn Larsson added eight saves with a season-best .889 save percentage, allowing just one goal while playing the first 39:30 of the contest.
- Scott, Emily Beier, Cat Crowley, Caitlyn Gunn, Holly Lloyd and Meaghan Quinn were each recognized in a pregame ceremony on their Senior Day, with Crowley making her first collegiate start on the backline.
Rosenzweig Named Top-25 Semifinalist for 2021 Tewaaraton Award
- For the second time in her Loyola career, Livy Rosenzweig was announced on Thursday as a Top-25 semifinalist for the women's lacrosse Tewaaraton Award.
- The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. Rosenzweig leads the Greyhounds with 56 points (23 G, 33 A), and she has totaled 5+ points in every contest during Loyola's winning streak.
- Now at 301 career points, she is 17 away from surpassing former teammate Hannah Powers for Loyola's all-time record. Her 167 career assists are also a team record, and she is only 11 assists away from becoming the Patriot League's all-time leader.
- In addition to her offensive prowess, Rosenzweig ranks third in team history with 256 career draw controls. She has won a team-high 55 draws this season.
Series History
- This will be the first meeting between the two sides. Furman's program is in its seventh season of existence, with the Paladins beginning play in 2015.
- This will also be Loyola's first matchup against a member of the Southern Conference, which is comprised of Furman, Coastal Carolina, Delaware State, Mercer and Wofford.
Scouting Furman
- The Paladins (11-3) take an eight-game winning streak into today's matchup following a 20-4 win at Delaware State on Saturday morning. They have scored an average of 17.6 goals per game during that run, and are ranked 13th overall nationally in scoring offense entering the weekend.
- Furman's last loss was a 13-9 setback on March 20 to an Elon squad currently receiving votes in the IWLCA and ILWomen polls.
- Sr. A Hannah Demis leads the team with 67 points (21 G, 46 A) and she is ranked third in Division I in assists per game (3.29).
- Furman went 3-4 during the shortened 2020 season, including two matchups against Patriot League opponents. The Paladins fell 10-6 to Lehigh and topped Bucknell by a 19-14 final.
Homecoming
- Rachel Shuck Whitten, the only head coach in Furman's women's lacrosse history, makes her return to Baltimore after a standout four year playing career at Loyola in the early 2000's.
- A two-time All-American at Loyola, Whitten helped the Greyhounds advance to three straight NCAA tournaments from 2002-04, including an appearance in the 2003 Final Four.
- She remains ranked fourth all-time at Loyola in career assists (120) after graduating as the program's record holder.
- Whitten was a Tewaaraton Award nominee in each of her final two seasons with the Greyhounds.
- Whitten has guided Furman to an overall record of 67-47 in her first six-plus seasons as head coach, leading the Paladins to the 2018 and 2019 Southern Conference championship games.

Weekly Award for Larsson
- Kaitlyn Larsson received her second Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week award on Monday following her eight-save, .889 save percentage performance against Bucknell.
- Larsson, who has now earned four weekly awards in her Loyola career, limited a Bucknell offense which had scored 30 goals combined in Patriot League victories over American and Colgate in its previous two games.
- An ILWomen Second Team Preseason All-American this spring, Larsson now leads the conference and ranks eighth nationally in both goals-against average (8.34) and save percentage (.507).
Season-Best Outing from Wills
- Emily Wills set season-highs in both goals (4) and points (6) during Friday's victory over Bucknell. The four goals were also a new career best for the sophomore attacker.
- Wills, who added hat tricks in consecutive wins over Navy and Lehigh, now ranks fourth overall on the team this season with 23 points (16 G, 7 A).
- A three-time Patriot League weekly award winner during the shortened 2020 season (2x Rookie of the Week, 1x Attacker of the Week), Wills has recorded at least one point in 14 of her 15 collegiate appearances. She had a career-high eight points (3 G, 5 A) in a 19-15 win at No. 9 Penn in the 2020 finale.

Kluegel Excels On, Off Field
- Senior Elli Kluegel was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team for a second-consecutive season on Feb. 4. Her 15 goals ranked third on the team in 2020, and she currently has 95 goals in 57 career appearances.
- Off the field, Kluegel continues to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in biology. A two-time COSIDA Academic All-District honoree, she was also an Academic All-Patriot League selection in 2019.
