The Matchup

  • Loyola men's soccer returns home for the first time since Aug. 29 on Saturday, hosting Holy Cross and looking for a second-straight victory to begin Patriot League play.

  • Kelan Swales scored his first goal at Loyola in the 53rd minute, helping the Greyhounds complete a rally from an early deficit at Lehigh and secure a 2-1 win in the Patriot League opener for both sides last Saturday.

  • Justin Ingram had the secondary assist on the game-winner, and he converted from the penalty spot in the 17th minute to open the scoring for the visitors.
  • Sean Graham also played a key role in the first half, drawing the foul which led to Ingram's PK and making a pair of team saves to keep Lehigh off the scoreboard less than a minute prior to the intermission.
  • The Mountain Hawks struck first less than three minutes into the contest, as Dominic Flowers took advantage of a giveaway in the defensive end and converted on the ensuing breakaway.

Weekly Award for Graham

  • Sean Graham's efforts on both sides of the field were recognized on Monday, as was selected as the Patriot League's Defensive Player of the Week.
  • Graham played the full 90 minutes on the backline, contributing to a defensive effort which allowed only six of Lehigh's 22 shots to land on target.
  • A freshman defender with experience playing on Northern Ireland's U-21 national team, Graham ranks second on the team in minutes played (529) this season.
  • Graham becomes Loyola's fifth weekly award selection this fall, joining Chase Vosvick (2x Goalkeeper of the Week), Justin Ingram (1x Midfielder of the Week) and Matthew Lala (1x Defensive Player of the Week).
