The Matchup
- The Greyhounds will be back in Reitz Arena on Wednesday, as they host the Monmouth Hawks.
- This will be the 6th matchup between the two programs, with the last matchup coming in 2019, when the Greyhounds won 64-48.
Last Time Out
- The Greyhounds hosted the UMBC Retrievers on Sunday afternoon.
- After a slow start in the first quarter, the Greyhounds stepped it up on the offensive end in the second quarter, in big part to a 14-3 run.
- Caramina Tanedo had a three-point play during the run, as Marta Espinal scored her first career points on a driving layup as the Greyhounds led at half.
- They continued their momentum in the third quarter, as Koi Sims had a strong start to the half for the Greyhounds.

Taleah Dixon and Espinal both hit three-pointers in the third quarter to extend their lead to 48-31 heading into the fourth quarter.
- The Greyhounds and Retrievers traded baskets to start the fourth quarter, but the Greyhounds defense would clamp down on the Retrievers as they won 61-47.
Looking Ahead
- The Greyhounds will hit the road for a pair of road contests, as they travel to face George Mason on November 19 and Bryant on November 21.
- They will then be back home on Saturday November 26th for a 2:00 PM matchup against Delaware State.

Scouting Monmouth
- The Hawks come into the matchup with an 2-1 record, with wins coming against New Jersey City and Sacred Heart.
- Bri Tinsley and Lucy Thomas currently lead the team with 15.7 points per game this season.
- Thomas also leads the team with 7.3 rebounds per game.
- On the season, the Hawks have averaged 65 points per game on 40.6% shooting from the floor, and have averaged 78 points in both of their wins.
- This is Monmouth's first year in the CAA after being a member of the MAAC last season.
- The Hawks were picked to finish tied for tenth in the CAA as they recieved 43 points in the Preseason Poll, tied with Hampton.
- They are also coming off of an 14-16 (9-11) record during the 2021-22 season, which ended with a first round loss to Canisius in the MAAC tournament.
Therien Named to Patriot League Preseason Team

Lex Therien was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League team prior to the start of the year.
- The sophomore forward made a big splash her freshman year, as she averaged 12.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
- She finished ninth in the Patriot League in scoring and finished first in rebounds per game.
- She was named Rookie of the Year and named to the All-League Second Team

Taleah Dixon and
Devyne Newman will return to the Greyhounds as fifth year graduate students.
- Dixon started all 29 games and was second on the team as she averaged 10.6 points per game, while averaged 2.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
- Newman started in 16 of 27 games played last season, averaging 19.6 minutes per game.
- She averaged 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.

Lex Therien is the first player to be named to the Preseason All-Conference Team since 2018-19.
- The Greyhounds team this year features three international players, all coming over from Spain.
- Coach O'Banion comes into her second year after seeing a 5-win improvement during her first year with the team.
- Loyola's 63-57 win over UMBC last year was the program's first victory after trailing by 14+ points in the second half since Feb. 10, 2012 vs. Iona (66-60).
- Loyola's overtime victory over FDU on Nov. 14 was the program's first overtime game since Jan. 2, 2017 at Lafayette. The Greyhounds are now 3-9 in OT dating back to March 4, 2011.
