The Matchup
- The Greyhounds will hit the road for a matchup with the crosstown Morgan State Bears. 
- This will be the 12th matchup between the two programs with the last meeting coming last December when the Bears won, 64-55.

Last Time Out
- The Greyhounds had a strong start to the game Monday night against Niagara, jumping out out to a 17-11 first quarter lead. 
- They continued their momentum in the second quarter, as they took an 33-26 halftime lead. 
- Niagara, however, came out of halftime with all of the momentum, as the Greyhounds struggled in the third quarter when Niagara outscored the Greyhounds, 25-9, to take a 51-42 lead heading into the fourth. 
- From there, the Greyhounds could not mount a comeback as they went on to lose the season opener, 64-55. 
- Lex Therien led the team with 16 points and a career-best 20 rebounds. Koi Sims added 15 points and 7 rebounds. 

Looking Ahead
- Loyola will be back home on November 13 as it host another Baltimore-area school in UMBC.
- The Greyhounds continue with home action with a game against Monmouth on November 13, before traveling to face George Mason on November 19.

Scouting Morgan State
- The Bears come into the matchup with a 1-0 record after winning their season opener against Shepherd. 
- The Bears had four players in double figures, led by Ja'Niah Henson with 16 points and Gabrielle Johnson with 13 points. 
- Three players were named to the MEAC Preseason Teams: Charlene Shepherd, Taylor Addison, and Ja'Niah Henson. 
- The Bears were also picked to finish fourth in the MEAC, behind Howard, Norfolk State, and Coppin State. 
- Carlene Shepherd was the Bears' leading scorer from the 18-8 team a year ago as she averaged 10.3 points per game. 
- The Bears reached the MEAC Semifinal but lost to Norfolk State on a last second put-back. The Bears had won a share of the regular-season MEAC championship.
- The Bears were a strong first quarter team last season, as they outscored opponents by almost 100 points in the first quarter.  

Therien Named to Patriot League Preseason Team
- Lex Therien was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League team prior to the start of the year. 
- The sophomore forward made a big splash her freshman year, as she averaged 12.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. 
- She finished ninth in the Patriot League in scoring and finished first in rebounds per game. 
- She was named Rookie of the Year and named to the Second Team All-League. 

Key Returners
- Taleah Dixon and Devyne Newman will return to the Greyhounds as fifth-year graduate students. 
- Dixon started all 29 games and was second on the team as she averaged 10.6 points per game with 2.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists. 
- Newman started in 16 of 27 games played last season, averaging 19.6 minutes per game. 
- She averaged 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
