Lex Therien picked up her 10th double-double of the season and
Taleah Dixon added 17 points, but Navy used a late 7-0 run to finish off a 61-54 victory over Loyola University Maryland on Saturday.
Therien totaled 18 points and 10 rebounds while also matching a season-high with four steals. Her first 3-pointer of the season gave the Greyhounds (4-17, 1-10 PL) a 52-50 lead with 3:24 remaining in regulation.
The Mids (7-14, 4-7 PL) responded with their deciding 7-0 stretch. A Morganne Andrews putback with 1:26 left put the home side in front for good in a contest which had 10 ties and 17 lead changes.
Therien hit 7 of 13 shots from the field, and she grabbed double-digit rebounds for a 10th time in the last 11 games. Dixon, who reached double figures for a fourth-straight contest and a 13th time overall on the year, matched a career best with four 3-pointers.
Keegan Douglas added seven points, all in the fourth quarter,
Bri Rozzi dished out five assists and
Charia Roberts grabbed seven boards. Loyola ended the afternoon with an 18-7 edge in offensive rebounds.
Jennifer Coleman led Navy with 16 points (10-12 FT) and 10 boards, while Sydne Watts and Mimi Schrader scored 13 points apiece. Neither side led by more than six points until the final 15 seconds of regulation.
The Greyhounds return to Reitz Arena on Wednesday, hosting Holy Cross at 7 p.m.
