BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The seventh-ranked Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse team scored the first nine goals of the game and never looked back as the undefeated Greyhounds earned a 15-7 win over Lehigh in the Patriot League opener for both teams at Ulrich Sports Complex Saturday afternoon.

Sam Fiedler and freshman
Georgia Latch shared game-high honors with five points each for Loyola (7-0, 1-0 Patriot League). Fiedler scored a game-high three goals to go with two assists, while Latch added two goals and a personal-best three assists.

Catie Corolla and
Emily Wills also scored twice for the Greyhounds, while senior
Jillian Wilson added one goal and two assists. Junior

Chase Boyle rounded out the goal scorers, with one goal apiece.

Logan Olmstead had a game-high three caused turnovers. Senior
Katie Detwiler also earned three ground balls and one caused turnover, while helping Loyola earn a 17-8 advantage on draw controls, by winning three. Wilson led all players with seven draw controls, while Rosenzweig won six.
In goal for Loyola, graduate student
Kaitlyn Larsson recorded her 10th career double-digit save game, turning back 10 shots.
For Lehigh (3-4, 0-1), Gabby Schneider led all players with five assists, while Hayley Hunt picked up 13 saves in goal.
While the Greyhounds rattled off eight goals in the first quarter, Loyola's defense also recorded its second scoreless quarter of the season. Larsson turned back two shots to record a clean sheet through the first 15 minutes, while Rosenzweig and Wills led the way with two first-quarter goals each. Rosenzweig converted a free position goal to get the scoring started and then added a second goal to make it 4-0, after goals from Boyle and Wills. Fielder, Latch and Engle all scored to push Loyola ahead 7-0 before Wills' second goal brought the first-quarter scoring to an end.
Corolla started the second quarter scoring, giving Loyola a 9-0 lead, but Lehigh had an answer for each of Loyola's three second-quarter goals, as they traded goals with Corolla, Wilson and Latch to lead to an 11-3 halftime advantage for the Greyhounds.
Lehigh opened the second half scoring, followed by back-to-back goals from Fiedler, giving her her fourth hat trick of the season and 25th of her career. The Mountain Hawks then closed out the third-quarter scoring to keep within eight of the Greyhounds.
Corolla scored first in the fourth quarter, but back-to-back goals from Lehigh cut Loyola's lead to seven, 14-7, before Hillman closed out the scoring with a free position goal.
Loyola will return to action on Wednesday when it hosts No. 11 Princeton in a 7 p.m. contest at Ridley Athletic Complex.
