Series History with Syracuse
• Syracuse has won the last seven meetings to earn a 16-6 advantage in the all-time series between the two former conference rivals.
• The series dates back to 2003, as the two have faced every year since (with the exception of the shortened 2020 season).
• Loyola won the first two meetings and Syracuse's first win came in 2005.
• The Greyhounds then joined the Big East in 2006, making the two conference rivals. Loyola won the first meeting, 13-12, in double-overtime, but the Orange captured the next five-straight meetings.
• Loyola avenged its 2011 regular season loss by knocking the Orange out of the Big East Tournament with a 12-11 win in the semifinals.
• The same thing happened in 2012, except the Greyhounds avenged their regular-season loss with a 13-7 victory in the Big East title game, getting them their second-straight Big East Championship.
• Loyola's next - and most recent - win was a 9-8 road victory in the 2015 regular season finale at the Syracuse soccer stadium.
• The two squads met again 14 days later in the NCAA Second Round, a game that the Orange won, 10-7, in the Carrier Dome.

Up Next
• Loyola will remain on the road, traveling to Holy Cross on Saturday for a 3 p.m. opening draw. The game will be the second in a doubleheader with the Loyola-Holy Cross men's lacrosse teams, as they square off at noon.
