Latch Named Patriot League Attacker And Rookie of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse freshman Georgia Latch has been named both the Patriot League Attacker and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the League office Monday.

Latch, a native of Melbourne, Australia, put up a pair of six-point performances in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds last week.

In a 16-15 midweek win over previously undefeated and then-No. 10 Princeton, Latch recorded her first collegiate hat trick, scoring three goals to go with three assists for a game-high six points. She followed that up with another three goal, three assist performance in a win over Boston University on Saturday to help Loyola remain as one of just two unbeaten teams in NCAA Division I women's lacrosse this season.

For the season, Latch is tied for second on the team with 27 points on 14 goals and a team-best 13 assists.

These honors mark the first career weekly awards for Latch, while she also becomes the first freshman to earn dual awards in the same week this season.

Loyola, ranked sixth nationally, will head to No. 4 Syracuse for a Tuesday night game at the Carrier Dome. Opening draw is scheduled for 6 p.m.
