Women's Lax Sweeps Major Awards, Places Nine On All-Patriot League Team

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The No. 7 Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse team swept the Patriot League's major postseason awards, as Livy Rosenzweig (attack), Jillian Wilson (midfield), Katie Detwiler (defender), Kaitlyn Larsson (goalkeeper), Georgia Latch (rookie) and head coach Jen Adams were honored, and it placed nine Greyhounds on an all-conference team, as announced by the League office Monday.

Sam Fiedler, a midfielder, and Shay Clevenger, a defender, joined Detwiler, Larsson, Latch, Rosenzweig, and Wilson on the first-time, while midfielder Elli Kluegel and attacker Sydni Black were named to the second team.

Rosenzweig, a graduate student from Katonah, N.Y., becomes just the eighth player in Patriot League history to be a four-time first-team All-League selection, while she becomes the eighth Greyhound to earn four all-conference honors throughout their career. The three-time Tewaaraton Award Top-25 Semifinalist broke the Patriot League's career assists and points records this year and became just the fifth player in NCAA history with 200 assists, the sixth with 400 points and just the second player to ever reach both milestones. Riding a 71-game point streak that features scoring multiple goals in every game this season, Rosenzweig led the Patriot League with 31 goals and 52 points in conference games this year, while her 85 points this season also leads the League and ranks 10th in the NCAA.

Detwiler, senior from Devon, Pa., continues Loyola's stretch of defensive dominance in the Patriot League as she brings the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year accolade to the Greyhounds for the seventh time in the last eight years. While this also marks the second-straight year Detwiler has earned the major award, it's the third-straight all-conference accolade for the ILWomen Midseason All-America First-Team honoree. One of just five defenders to be named a Tewaaraton Award Top-25 Semifinalist, Detwiler leads the Greyhounds with 18 caused turnovers this year and has 17 ground balls.

Wilson, a senior from Hampstead, Md., becomes the fourth Greyhound to earn Patriot League Midfield Player of the Year accolades. The two-time first-team All-League performer was added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List this season after leading the team in draw controls, as she became just the 10th player in Patriot League history to win 100+ draw controls in a single season. With 107 draw controls this season, she ranks 14th in the NCAA with a 6.53 draws per game average. She also leads the team in ground balls (26), ranks third in goals (34) and fourth in points (45).

Larsson, a graduate student from Garden City, N.Y., is picking up her second-straight Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year accolade and second-straight first-team All-League honor. The Midseason ILWomen All-America honorable mention leads the League with a 5.84 goals-against average and .573 save percentage in conference games, while she's ranked second in the NCAA with a 7.94 GAA and eighth with a .500 save percentage on the season. Throughout the season, she's posted three double-digit save performances (vs. Penn State, Lehigh and Navy) and eight shutout quarters, while helping the defense hold 13 of 17 opponents to single digits in goals this season.

Latch, an attacker from Melbourne, Australia, joins Rosenzweig and Hannah Powers '19 as Loyola's Rookie of the Year selections in the Patriot League. The lone freshman to be named to an all-conference team, Latch picked up first-team honors after ranking fourth in the League with 2.11 assists and seventh 4.00 points per conference game. The second-ranked freshman in the NCAA in assists (30) and ninth-ranked freshman in points (56) this season, Latch was included as a top-15 freshman to watch by ILWomen. She's started and contributed a point in every game, recording five hat tricks, eight four-plus point games, two six-plus point games and 10 multiple-assist performances.

Adams picks up her sixth Patriot League Coach of the Year accolade after leading the Greyhounds to their eighth-straight Patriot League regular-season title and first one-loss regular-season since 1975. In winning their first nine games of the season, the Greyhounds were one of the last two undefeated teams this season. They also earned four wins over nationally ranked teams and used a 9-0 record in League play to run their regular-season conference win streak to 66-straight games, setting the NCAA record for consecutive conference games won. With her fifth win of the season, Adams became the 35th coach in NCAA Division I history to reach 175 wins this season, while her win at Holy Cross on Saturday, April 2 marked her 250th game as a head coach.

Fiedler, a graduate student from Reisterstown, Md., is earning her third-straight all-conference nod, and her second-straight first-team accolade. Ranking third on the team in points (54) and assists (24), Fiedler also ranks third in the Patriot League with 2.25 assists and fifth with 4.25 points per conference game, while her .545 shot percentage ranks second in the League. Throughout the season, she's had at least one point in every game she's played and has recorded four hat tricks, seven five-plus point games and six multiple-assist performances.

Clevenger, a senior from Woodstock, Md., is earning her first all-conference accolade, being named to the first team. A team captain and this week's Patriot League Defender of the Week, Clevenger has helped the defense rank third in the NCAA as they allow just 7.71 goals per game. Individually, she's second on the team in both caused turnovers (13) and ground balls (25).

Black, a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, was named to the second team after finishing the regular season tied for third on the team in goals (30), fourth in assists (12) and sixth in points (42). She's had a point in all but one game this year, recording four hat tricks and three five-plus point performances, and she was added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List for her play this season.

Kluegel, a graduate student from Fairfax, Va., is picking up second team honors for a second-straight year after leading the Patriot League and ranking 11th nationally in shot percentage. In addition to scoring on 60.3% of shots she takes, she's also an integral part of Loyola's clear team that leads the Patriot League and ranks eighth nationally in clearing percentage (.915). Throughout the season, Kluegel has scored 35 goals and recorded 43 points, turning in five hat tricks and 11 three-plus point performances.

Loyola, the No. 1 seed in the Patriot League Tournament after capturing its eighth-straight regular-season title, will host No. 5 seed Lehigh in the semifinal round Thursday at 3 p.m. The second semifinal game between No. 2 seed Army West Point and No. 3 seed Navy will begin at 7 p.m. The winner of each semifinal game will advance to Saturday's nationally televised Championship Game at 2 p.m.
