BALTIMORE – The second year of
Danielle O'Banion's head coaching tenure at Loyola University Maryland will start on November 7 when the Greyhounds women's basketball team hosts its 2022-23 season opener.
Loyola will welcome Niagara to Reitz Arena that evening when the Greyhounds begin an 11-game non-conference stretch to start the year.
A pair of Baltimore-area games are up next for the Greyhounds who will travel down Cold Spring Lane to face Morgan State on November 11 before hosting UMBC two days later. The November 13 game against the Retrievers is the first game of a Loyola doubleheader, in which the men's basketball team is set to open its home schedule with a game against Brown.
Monmouth then visits Reitz Arena on November 16 before the Greyhounds travel to George Mason on November 19. Two days later, Loyola will be in Rhode Island to face Bryant on November 21.
A Thanksgiving weekend tilt against Delaware State is set for November 26 in Reitz Arena, and Toledo then comes to Baltimore to face the Greyhounds on November 30.
Mount St. Mary's will host an intra-state game against the Greyhounds on December 3 in Emmitsburg, Maryland, and the Greyhounds then continue west to play at Pitt on December 7.
Loyola wraps up the non-conference portion of its schedule on December 10 with a home game against Hofstra.
The Greyhounds' 10
th season in the Patriot League officially starts on December 30 with the first conference game of the season. Loyola heads north to Hamilton, New York to face Colgate in the league opener.
This year's conference schedule includes 18 games with a double round-robin format with each team playing the other nine twice. Loyola wraps up the schedule on March 1 with its second game against the Raiders.
The Patriot League Championships start on March 4 with the first round and continue through the championship game on March 12.
