The Matchup
- The Greyhounds will continue Patriot League play on Wednesday as they travel to face Navy.
- This will be the 18th meeting between the two programs, with Navy holding an 11-3-4 edge. The Midshipmen have won the last four meeting dating back to the 2019 Patiot League Championships.

Last Time Out
- The Greyhounds traveled to face the Colgate Raiders in their conference opener on Saturday afternoon. 
- Both teams had their fair share of chances in the first half, as the Greyhounds out-shot the Raiders 9-8 in the first half, but neither team could convert on any shot. 
- Once again in the second half, both teams had opportunities to score, but both defenses were up to the task.
-That is until Olivia Quaranta played a ball to Chloe Kuminkoski, who then crossed the ball into the box, that found Baylee DeSmit who headed the ball in to take a 1-0 lead in the 89th minute, as the Greyhounds won their Patriot League opener.  

Key Returners and Newcomers
- The Greyhounds will return a strong core from last years team, as there will be 9 members of the team that tallied at least 10 starts last season. 
- This group is led by Preseason Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year, Paige Sim, who started all 18 games last season.
- The Greyhounds also return Sarah Mirr, Chloe Kuminkoski, Alex Searing, and Gillian Borton who all also started all 18 games last season. 
- Three of the top four scorers from last years team also return in Baylee DeSmit (4 goals, 1 assist), Sarah Mirr (3 goals, 3 assists), and Ada Clare Tempert (3 goals, 1 assist).
- Other notable returners for the Greyhounds are seniors MK Barnes, Lea Kristjansdottir, and junior Kelly Hutton
- On top of the deep returners for the Greyhounds, they also brought in a talented freshman class, as they brought in 5 freshman to bolster their roster, and also brought in sophomore transfer Michaela Virgin, who comes to Loyola after a year at NC State.

Where They Stand In The Patriot League
- Paige Sim currently leads the conference in saves (47), saves per game (5.22), and is first in shutouts (5). 
- Baylee DeSmit is first in the conference in goals (5), first in points (12), first in game-winning goals (3), and tied for 7th in assists (2), 
- Olivia Quaranta is second in the league in assists (4). 
- As a team, the Greyhounds are tied for third in goals scored (11), despite being being in 8th in shots (66). 

Scouting Navy
- The Midshipmen come into the matchup with a 4-2-3 (1-0-0) record. 
- They come into the matchup after winning their conference opener 4-0 over Bucknell. 
- Jenna Daunt, Olivia Foster, and Ashley Yi are tied for the team lead with 2 goals each. 
- Amanda Graziano currently leads the conference in assists as she has talled 5 assists on the season. 
- Mattie Gallagher has started 8 games in goal for the Midshipmen, and has tallied 39 saves on the season, and has a 0.63 GAA. 
- 12 seperate players have scored at least one goal this season so far for the Midshipmen. 
- Alexa Riddle and Katie Herrmann were named to the Patriot League Preseason All-Conference team.
- Navy was alo picked to finish in first in the Preaseason Poll, receiving 145 points, and 7 first-place votes.

- The Greyhounds have a 11-4-8 conference record, dating back to the beginning of the 2019 season.
- The Greyhounds have posted 6 shutouts this season so far, including four straight games with a shutout.

- The Greyhounds have recorded a shutout in 6 of the 9 games so far this season, despite being outshot in 6 of the 9 games. 
- Paige Sim has recorded 6 or more saves in 5 of the 9 games this season, including a career-high 9 against Rice.
- Four different players have scored this season, and seven different players have recorded an assist.
