CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Loyola Univeristy Maryland men's varsity 4 boat finished 12^th in the Collegiate Fours at the 2023 Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday as the Greyhounds opened the 2023-2024 season on the Charles River.
 
The crew of Eoin McDonough, Sam Hoerning, Brendan Shaw, Chris Engelbert and coxswain Joey Sigmund crossed the line in 18:00.797 in the race.
 
Two Loyola alumni groups raced at the event, as well, with former men's and women's rowers competing in their respective alumni races.
 
Tibor Francis, Ramiro Morales, Jack Hayes, Alex Perez and coxswain Zachary Pepper were 16^th in the men's alumni fours in 18:36.416, while Gabrielle Teoli, Jennifer Barrett, Jennifer Judy, Nicole D'Andrea and coxswain Sarah Hofstetter took 19^th in the women's alumnae fours in 21:22.827.
 
Loyola will be back on the water next weekend at the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia on Saturday, October 28.
