PHILADELPHIA – Six St. Joseph's University players scored in double figures, and the Hawks dealt Loyola University Maryland a 97-56 defeat in the Greyhounds non-conference finale on Friday at Hagan Arena.
Rasheer Fleming led all players with 19 points for St. Joseph's (10-3 overall), making 8 of 13 shots in the process, and Lynn Greer III added 15 by hitting all three of his field goals and all eight of his free throws.
Deon Perry led the Greyhounds with 18 points, knocking down four 3-pointers in the game.
Milos Ilic added a season-high 13 points, and
Golden Dike had a season- and game-high 14 rebounds.
Loyola led in the early minutes and the Hawks took a 9-8 lead after Ilic went 1 of 2 at the free-throw line with 13:06 to play in the first half. St. Joseph's, however, scored 17 of the next 20 points and led 26-11 on a Fleming layup with 8:45 to go in the half.
From there, the Hawks built a 50-29 halftime advantage.
The game was the Greyhounds' last regular-season non-conference contest of 2023-2024. Loyola opens Patriot League competition on Wednesday, January 3, at Colgate University.
