The Matchup
- The Loyola women's lacrosse continues its 2023 campaign with a matchup against Penn at home on Wednesday evening.
- This will be the 23rd meeting between the two teams, with the last matchup coming last season, where the Greyhounds won 12-10. The Greyhounds have won the last 16 meetings dating back to 1990. 
- The Quakers come into the matchup with an 2-0 record on the season, posting wins over La Salle and #16 Johns Hopkins.

- Saturday marked the 14th season the Greyhounds will play at Ridley Athletic Complex. The Greyhounds hold an impressive 94-23 (.803) record all-time at the stadium.
- The Greyhounds return seven of their top 10 scorers from the 2022 season, led by four players who scored 25 or more goals: Jillian Wilson (48), Sydni Black (39), Georgia Latch (38), and Chase Boyle (25). 
- Latch also finished second on the team in 2022 with 38 assists, good for second most by a freshman in program history. 

Last Time Out
- The Greyhounds faced cross-town foe Towson last Wednesday. 
- The Greyhounds started the game strong, as they scored the first eight goals of the game and held the Tigers to zero goals in the first quarter. 
- Sydni Black and Meg Hillman had career-high days for the Greyhounds; Black tallied a high of five goals and seven points, while Hillman scored a career-high four goals. Lauren Spence also tallied a career-high of 12 saves on the day. 
- The Greyhounds held the Tigers scoreless during the first and third quarter in the win. 

Looking Ahead
- The Greyhounds will be back on the road this weekend, as the Greyhounds travel to face Penn State at 12:00 PM. 

Series History
- Loyola leads 18-4 in a series that dates back to 1983.
- The Greyhounds have faced the Quakers in two of the last three seasons. 
- The Greyhounds and Quakers faced off in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2012, when the Greyhounds won 10-9 in overtime.
- The teams first matchup came in 1983 during the NCAA tournament at Penn, where the Quakers won 9-5.  

Scouting Penn
- The Quakers come into the matchup with a 2-0 record. 
- They have similar opponent in Johns Hopkins, that Penn beat this past Saturday 13-12 in overtime at the Blue Jays. 
- Anna Brandt currently leads the team with seven goals on the season, with Niki Miles adding six goals. 
- Patricia Columbia-Walsh leads the team with six assists and nine points through two games this season. 
- The Quakers are in the midst of a five-game road trip, that began against Johns Hopkins. 
- They return nine of their top-ten scorers from the 2022 season, led by Niki Miles who had 34 points on the season.  

Big Shoes to Fill
- The Greyhounds will have big shoes to fill this season, as Livy Rosenzweig wrapped up her illustrious playing career in 2022. 
- Rosenzweig finished as the Loyola career leader in points and assists, among several single season records. She also finished her career with the third-most assists and 4th most points in NCAA history. 
- The Greyhounds will also have to replace the goal contributions from Sam Fiedler and Ellie Kluegel. Fiedler sits at ninth all-time in Loyola in goals, while Kluegel is at 11th all-time. 
- Loyola also has a new face in goal, as they said good-bye to All-American Kaitlyn Larsson after last season. Larsson finished her career in the top-10 in career saves for the Greyhounds.
