HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate University used a 22-2 run in the first half to take command of a Patriot League Quarterfinals game against Loyola University Maryland, and the host Raiders advanced with a 92-73 victory.
Loyola trailed 6-4 after a
Jaylin Andrews basket 2:19 into the game, but the next 12 points came on Raiders 3-pointers, starting the run that would put Colgate up 28-6 on a Chandler Baker layup.
The Raiders led 51-31 at halftime, but Loyola got within 12, 51-39 at 18:14 on an Andrews 3-pointer.
Colgate stretched out the lead to 20 less than five minutes later.
Golden Dike led the Greyhounds with 17 points, one off his career-high, and six rebounds.
Kenneth Jones scored 13, and Andrews added 12, while
David Brown III came off the bench to score eight. Jones had five assists and Dike four.
