Jen Adams Becomes Winningest Women's Lacrosse Coach in Loyola History

BALTIMORE -- Milestones and records have been a hallmark of Jen Adams' career as a player and coach, and she added another one recently as she became the Loyola University Maryland leader in wins by a women's lacrosse coach.

She surpassed Diane Geppi-Aikens, a member of the Loyola Hall of Fame and fellow USLacrosse Hall of Famer, who won 197 games between 1989-2003.

Adams became the seventh coach for the Loyola women's lacrosse program before the 2009 season, and  she led the Greyhounds back to the NCAA Tournament after a six-year hiatus in 2011 when they captured their first of two BIG EAST Conference Championships. Since Loyola joined the Patriot League in 2014, the Greyhounds have not lost a regular-season conference game and have won the Patriot League Championships six times.

In all, Adams has helped Loyola to 10 of the last 11 NCAA Championships which have been contested, and the Greyhounds have advanced to the Quarterfinal round four times.

Adams has coached IWLCA 28 All-Americans, 26 conference major award winners, and has been named conference Coach of the Year seven times. Adams currently holds a 199-73 career record, with a .731 winning percentage. She surpassed Geppi-Aikens, who coached from 1989-2003 and amassed an 197-71 record.

Prior to joining the Greyhounds, Adams was an associate head coach under Cathy Reese at the University of Maryland in 2007 and 2008, and was an assistant to Reese at the University of Denver from 2004-06. Adams also has experience coaching on the international level, as she coached the Australian U-19's.
