Hamilton, NY -- A week after becoming Loyola's all-time wins leader,
Jen Adams recorded career win No. 200 in the Greyhounds 23-4 victory over Colgate on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, Adams becomes the 45th active head coach to reach the mark across all divisions. Of those coaches, she has the 18th best winning percentage. Adams has reached the mark in her 15th season at the helm for the Greyhounds and has won at least 11 games in each season (excluding the 2020 season due to the COVID shortened season).
In what has been a theme over the Greyhounds last couple of games, the offense started the game strong.
Chase Boyle scored just 20 seconds into the game. The Greyhounds didn't stop there, as they went on to score five goals in the first five minutes of the game. Three of the goals came from
Jillian Wilson, who had a hat-trick in the first five minutes of the game. The offense continued to click in the first quarter, scoring a total of 11 goals in the first quarter, as they led 11-2 after the first quarter. Six different players scored in the first quarter. Boyle,
Georgia Latch, and
Sydni Black each had two goals each, while Latch had a hat-trick of assists in the first quarter.
The Greyhounds (10-2) overall continued their momentum in the second quarter, as Wilson scored her fourth goal of the game just over two minutes into the quarter.
Meg Hillman and
Chase Boyle both scored in the quarter, while
Izzy D'Antonio scored her first goal of the season. The Greyhounds pace slowed in the second quarter, as the Greyhounds took an 15-3 lead into halftime.
The Greyhounds continued to dominate in the second half, as they outscored the Raiders 8-1 in the second half. Latch and Boyle would add another two goals in the second half, while Black, Wilson and Kielmeyer each added a goal in the second half.
Blake Cunneen scored her first goal of the season in the fourth quarter on an assist from
Anna Ruby.
On the afternoon, Latch led the way with seven points (four goals and three assists), while
Jillian Wilson and
Chase Boyle had five goals each.
Sydni Black had a hat-trick on the day, while
Emily Wills had a hat-trick of assists to go along with a goal.
Lauren Spence made seven saves in goal on the afternoon to go along with three ground balls.
The Greyhounds once again controlled the possession, winning the draw control battle 23-8. Wilson, Boyle, and
Katie Detwiler each had seven draw controls each.
The Raiders (2-9 overall) had four different goal scorers on the afternoon. Catie Lang made five saves in goal for the Raiders.
The Greyhounds will stay on the road next Wednesday, as they will wrap-up non-conference play with a ranked matchup at Princeton.
