The Matchup
- The Greyhounds will continue conference play on Wednesday, as the Greyhounds will host the Navy Midshipmen.
- This will be the 20th meeting between the two programs. Navy has controlled the matchup since the Greyhounds joined the Patriot League, but the Greyhounds are coming off of a win in their meeting last season.

Quick Hits
- Baylee DeSmit currently leads the Patriot League in points (13), and is tied for first in goals (4), while being second in the Patriot League in assists (5). 
- Paige Sim currently leads the Patriot League in shutouts (5), while also sitting in second with an .968 GAA.
- The Greyhounds back line this season has been lock down, as they lead the Patriot League in shots allowed per game this season (7.8). They are the only Patriot League team to currently allow less than 10 shots per game.  

Key Returners
- The Greyhounds will return a strong core from last years team, as they return 10 of their top 11 players in minutes played from a year ago. 
- Paige Sim and Alex Searing return to the Greyhounds, using their Covid eligibility for their fifth year with the program. 
- Sim, Zoe Willis, Olivia Quaranta, and Baylee DeSmit all return to the Greyhounds after starting in all 18 games during the 2022 season. 
- Searing, Jess Korman, Kelly Hutton, and Delaney DeMartino, who all tallied at least 14 starts during the 2022 season, return to the Greyhounds for the 2023 season. 

Welcome to the Greyhounds
- The Greyhounds welcome 10 new players to the 2023 team; welcoming eight freshman and two transfers. 
- Julia Hellenkamp, a transfer from UNC-Wilmington, joins the Greyhounds after two seasons with the Seahawks. She made 15 appearances during her sophomore season. 
- Asma Merzougui, a transfer from CSU Bakersfield, joins the Greyhounds after a season with the Roadrunners. She played in seven games, starting in two during her freshman campaign. 
- Malone Christen (Rome, GA), Francesca Khachatourians (Manhatten Beach, CA), Abby Wood (Ventura, CA), and Jessie Brandenburg (Lexington, SC) will look to boost the Greyhounds attack. 
- Ella Moss (Delray Beach, FL) adds some depth to the Greyhounds midfield. 
- Nele Raap (Haiterbach, Germany) and Carsyn Weber (Oakville, Ontario) will add depth to an already solid back-line. 
- Lastly, Brigid Mulholland (Fairport, NY) adds to the strong goalkeeper position for the Greyhounds. 

Scouting Navy
- The Midshipmen come into the matchup with an 5-1-3 record, and are coming off of a 1-0 win over Lehigh in their Patriot League matchup. 
- Their lone loss came in a 1-0 loss to Virginia Tech, while they also tied, 3-3, against Maryland earlier in the season. 
- Preseason All-Patriot League member Alexa Riddle is tied for the Patriot League lead with four goals on the season. 
- Marlee Heaven, Amanda Graziano, Kat healey, and Isabella Romano all have at least two goals this season. Graziano leads the Patriot League with six assists on the season. 
- The Midshipmen were picked to finish in fifth place in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, earning 105 points.

Quick Notes
- The 2023 season will be the 13th season the Greyhounds have been in the Patriot League, going 26-39-22 during that span, reaching the Patriot League Championships in four straight seasons, which includes two trips to the Patriot League Semifinals. 
- This is Head Coach Joe Mallia's second stint at the helm with the Greyhounds. During his first stint, Mallia went 87-45-9 (54-4-5, MAAC), Winning the MAAC Regular-Season Championship four times, and the MAAC Tournament Championship three times.
In his four season's back at the helm, Mallia has gone 28-24-14. 
- The Greyhounds have gone 56-41-18 at home since the opening of Ridley Athletic Complex.
- Paige Sim is tied for 12th in Division I with five shutouts this season. 
- Dating back to the beginning of the 2022 season, the Greyhounds have recorded 14 shutouts in 26 games. 

Recipe for Success
- Entering conference play, the Greyhounds are the only team in the Patriot League that is unbeaten at home this season, posting a 5-0 record. 
- The Greyhounds have recorded a shutout in five of their six wins so far this season.
- Eight different players have scored a goal thus far this season, with Baylee DeSmit leading the team with four, as Elizabeth Gallagher, Olivia Quaranta, and Delaney DeMartino with two goals each.
- The Greyhounds have won 18 of the last 21 games in which they have scored two goals or more, which dates back to Sept. 6, 2018. Loyola is 4-0-0 when scoring multiple goals this season.
- The Greyhounds are 19-1-3 when scoring first and 13-1-1 when leading at halftime since the beginning of the 2021 season.
- Since the beginning of the 2022 season, the Greyhounds are 0-8-0 when their opponent scored first.
