Lewisburg -- Bucknell University scored with just over a minute remaining in the first half, as they held on, despite a second half rally from the Loyola University Maryland women's soccer team, as the Greyhounds fell 1-0 on the road.
In the first half, possession for both teams was close to even, as both teams remained tied 0-0 throughout the majority of the first half. Late in the have, the Bison (9-3-2 overall, 5-1 Patriot League) recorded a shot on goal, that was saved by
Brigid Mulholland, but the rebound bounced out, as the Bison's Teressa Deda tapped in the rebound, as they took the 1-0 lead.
Bucknell out shot the Greyhounds (5-4-5 overall, 1-2-3 Patriot League) in the first half, 11-1, but only three shots were on goal in the half, as the majority of the shots came from outside of the box and were off frame.
Early in the second half, the Bison had another look at goal, but Mulholland came up big with another save, as
Nele Raap cleared the follow up shot, to keep the deficit down to one.
Loyola's offense had a few chances late in the second half, coming off of a pair of corner kicks and a free kick in their attacking third, but they could not find the equalizer, as they fell 1-0 to the Bison.
Loyola continues Patriot League play on Satuday, as they will travel up to Holy Cross.
