Baltimore -- The Loyola University Maryland volleyball team did not trail at all on Friday night, as they swept the Lafayette College Leopards on Friday evening in a Patriot League matchup.
The Greyhounds moved to 4-1 in Patriot League play with a 25-15, 25-18, 25-13 win of the Leopards.
Kacy Sekunda recorded her fifth triple-double of the season with 10 kills, 14 assists, and 12 digs while hitting .400 on the night.
Lauren Link tallied a team-high 11 kills on the night to go along with 10 digs.
Bryanne Soares posted 20 assists and 15 digs in the win, while
Leah Hunter added 14 digs on the night.
Loyola led the first set the entire way, jumping out to a quick 5-0 lead. A Lafayette kill drew the score to 15-11, but Loyola drew away, scoring seven straight points, as a Leopards attack error gave Loyola the first set lead.
Lafayette kept the score close in the second set, as Loyola led 18-17 after a Leopards kill forced a Greyhounds timeout. Loyola came out of the timeout swinging, as the Greyhounds went on to score the next six points in the set, as they closed out the second set on a 7-1 run.
The Greyhounds used a pair of 7-2 runs in the third set to keep the Leopards behind in the set. Kills from Link and
Mariah Sanabia late in the third set gave the Greyhounds the 3-0 sweep on the night.
The Greyhounds will be back in Reitz on Saturday evening, as they will host the Lehigh Mountain Hawks at 4 pm.
