The Matchup

The Greyhounds will continue non-conference play on Tuesday evening as they travel up to New York for the matchup against St. John's.
This will be the 7th meeting between the two programs, as Loyola has held the advantage, posting a 3-0-3 record against the Red Storm, as Loyola has yet to lose to St. John's.

Quick Hits

The Greyhounds started Patriot League play as they entered the season as the Preseason favorites. Loyola earned 12 first place votes and a total of 150 points in the poll. The Greyhounds are 2-1-2 in their last five Patriot League home openers (excluding the 2020 season).
In the Preseason United Soccer Coaches Poll, Clemson (#1), Marshall (#8), Hofstra (#17), and Syracuse (#25) were all ranked in the poll. Loyola will be on the road for Clemson, Marshall and Syracuse, while they will host Hofstra at home on September 24.

Last Time Out

After a tight first half, Caden Stafford scored the opening goal of the game in the first half, as he headed in a cross from Chris Ogor, to the near post for the goal.
In the second half, Loyola possessed the majority of the possession as they outshot the Midshipmen in the half.
Stafford added his second goal of the game in the 73rd minute, as his right footed shot from outside the box found its way to the back of the net.
Navy would responded with a goal of their own just 1:16 later.
The Midshipmen followed up their opening goal with a pair of goals over the next seven minutes, as they took a 3-2 lead in the 82nd minute.
Despite a few looks at goal late, Loyola could not overcome the Navy rally.
