BALTIMORE –
Lauren Link moved into fifth place in career kills at Loyola University Maryland on Friday night, but the Greyhounds lost in three to visiting Bucknell Univeristy, 25-17, 25-20, 25-14, in Reitz Arena.
The Greyhounds will enter the upcoming Patriot League Championships as the No. 5 seed and play at Army West Point, the No. 4 seed, in a 6 p.m. match on Tuesday evening in the quarterfinal round.
Link finished with eight kills, moving past her former teammate Abby Hamilton and into fifth place all-time at the school with 1,346 kills.
Her classmate, fellow graduate student
Caitlin Churney, had a team-high nine kills for Loyola while hitting .389.
Sophie Brenner and
Kacy Sekunda both matched Link's eight kills in the match.
Link and
Ally Bauer tied for team-high honors with 13 digs, and Sekunda had 11 to go with 15 assists.
