Bethlehem -- The Patriot League announced their 11-member Academic Team on Wednesday morning, as Loyola University Maryland's
Baylee DeSmit was named to the team for the second straight season.
DeSmit has made the deans list in three semesters during her time at Loyola. She has been a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes club at Loyola since she first arrived at Loyola. Over the summer, she works as an camp counselor at ESF summer camps.
On the field, DeSmit was named as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, as she leads the Patriot League in goals (16) and points (37), while also leading in shots (112), shots on goal (57), and game-winning goals (6).
DeSmit also ranks nationally, as she is fourth in goals, goals per game, game winning goals, and points per game, sixth in total points, first in shots and shots on goal per game in Division I.
The Greyhounds travel to face Bucknell on Thursday evening for the Patriot League Semifinals at 7:00 PM.
