LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell University scored twice in each half, and the Bison finished with a 4-0 decision over Loyola University Maryland women's soccer Thursday night in the Patriot League Semifinals.
The Greyhounds season concludes in the semifinal round for the third time in the last six years. Loyola finished with an 8-6-5 overall record after going 3-3-3 in the Patriot League and placing fourth in the regular-season.
Bucknell got onto the board in the 15
th minute when Katie Connell scored off a Paige Temple assist. The Bison went up 2-0 before the break from a Teresa Deda corner kick that was headed in by Sydney Hess in the 35
th minute.
Temple added to the lead with a Katie Schiano assist less than five minutes into the second half, and Deda concluded the scoring on a Connell right-to-left assist from in the 60
th minute.
Bucknell managed a 23-13 lead in shots during the game.
Baylee DeSmit had six shots for Loyola, and
Elizabeth Gallagher added three.
