BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland's
Jordan Stiemke was named the Patriot League Player of the Week, and his teammate
Braeden Speed picked up a Patriot League Rookie of the Week nod, on Monday after the Greyhounds posted a road win Saturday night at Mount St. Mary's.
Stiemke finished one off his career-high with a season-best 22 points against the Mountaineers to lead all scorers in the 77-69 win. He made four 3-pointers among seven field goals.
The sophomore wing also had five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Speed scored 11 points on 4 of 7 from the field, while dishing out four assists along with three rebounds and two steals.
Stiemke and Speed are second and fourth, respectively, in points per game on the Greyhounds this season, averaging 11.9 and 9.0 respectively. Stiemke leads the team with 3.3 assists per game.
The award is the first of Stiemke's career, while Speed picked up his second rookie honor of the season.
