BALTIMORE – Bucknell won four of six singles matches on Saturday to slip past host Loyola University Maryland women's tennis, 4-3, in a Patriot League match at the McClure Tennis Center.
Loyola picked up the doubles point as
Olivia Tracey and LIza Tankimovich shut out Madi Sebulsky and Caroline Marcus, 6-0, at No. 2, and
Jocelyn Assael and
Emi Shivkumar paired to top Anna Lajos and Mirra Manalov, 6-3, at No. 3.
Bucknell evened the match at 1-1 with a 6-0, 6-2 win by Whitney King over Tracey at No. 1 singles, but Richiez responded with a point, beating Lajos, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 2.
Abby Platt tied the match at 2-2 with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Tankimovich at No. 3, and Tori Allen put Bucknell up, 3-2, after beating
Anna Rico, 6-3, 6-4.
Lauren Manwiller won the No. 4 singles match, 6-4, 7-6 (4) over Bucknell's Tyne Miller to tie the match again, this time at 3-3, but Manolov used a third set to beat Shivkumar, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 to claim the match for the Bison.
