th career draw control for the Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon, as the Greyhounds defeated Boston University, 18-7, on senior day.
Georgia Latch finished with a game-high 5 goals and 2 assists on the day.
Sydni Black added 4 goals and 1 assist, while
Chase Boyle had 3 goals and 1 assist.
Anna Ruby had a team high 4 assists to go along with 1 goal.
Gabby Stapleton also added a pair of goals.
The Terriers (4-9 overall, 0-6 Patriot League) scored the opening goal, as they converted on a free position goal at the 12:42 mark in the first quarter.
Loyola finally got on the board at the 9:58 mark, as
Chase Boyle scored on a
Anna Ruby assist.
Catie Corolla added another goal, as she scored off a assist from
Avery Ruhnke just 40 seconds later.
Georgia Latch followed it up with a pair of goals, one coming on a free position, the second on a assist from
Sydni Black, as she scored both of them within a two minute span.
Boston added another goal, before the Greyhounds (13-1 overall, 7-0 Patriot League) scored five more goals over the last 5:34 of the first quarter, as they jumped out to a 9-2 lead after the first quarter.
Latch scored early in the second quarter, thanks to an assist from Alana Wray.
Sydni Black would add another Loyola goal on a free position, as they led 11-2 with 12:18 remaining in the second quarter.
The Greyhounds momentum would slow to close out the quarter, as they scored only one more goal, by
Regan Kielmeyer, as Loyola led 12-2 at the half.
Loyola once again scored the first two goals of the second half, one coming from
Sofia D'Angelo on a free position, and the other by
Chase Boyle off a
Anna Ruby assist, as Loyola had a commanding 14-2 lead.
Boston followed it up with a pair of goals, as Loyola led 14-4 heading into the fourth quarter.
Sydni Black scored her 55
th goal of the season early in the fourth quarter, to take a 15-4 lead. After another Terriers goal, Loyola scored three more goals, to put the game out of reach, as they led 18-5 with 6:43 remaining.
Boston added a pair of late goals, as Loyola went on to win 18-7.
The Greyhounds maintained the majority of the possession, as they won 22 of 29 draw controls, with
Chase Boyle grabbing 13 draw controls on the day.
Lily Osborne was crucial on the back line, as she tallied 4 caused turnovers and 3 ground balls.
Amber Bustard led the team with 4 saves in the win.
Loyola will be back in action on Wednesday, as they will close out non-conference play with a ranked matchup against Penn.
