The Loyola University Maryland golf team will stay in the State of Maryland for its second tournament of the 2024-25 season when it heads to Annapolis, Maryland, this weekend for The Goat, an event hosted by Patriot League foe Navy.
Loyola will tee off in the 54-hole event on Saturday, September 21, at the Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis where it will be one of 16 teams competing during the weekend.Â
Play is set to begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday with competitors making two 18-hole trips around the 7,025-yard, par-71 course during the first day. The final round will start on Sunday with the Greyhounds playing in the final threesomes at 9:40 a.m.
The Greyhounds will be joined by four other Patriot League teams, including Bucknell, Colgate, Lafayette and the host Midshipmen.
Three players will make their second start of the season for the Greyhounds in the play-five, count-four event. Eli Spaulding and Jackson finished in the top-10 of the season-opening Howard/USF Intercollegiate, tying for second and seventh, respectively, while Mike Crowley had a top-20 finish with a tie for 18th. Gustavo Rangel and Lorenzo Sanz will both make their 2024-25 season debuts for the Greyhounds at The Goat.
