LEWISBURG, Pa. –
Braeden Speed converted a layup and free throw for a traditional 3-point play with 11:55 left in regulation on Wednesday night, drawing Loyola University Maryland within three of host Bucknell University, but the Bison scored the next 11 points and pulled away for a 79-67 Patriot League victory in Sojka Pavilion.
Jacob Theodosiou scored 22 points for Loyola, leading all scorers, but Bucknell (9-13 overall, 5-4 Patriot League) made 11 of 21 3-point attempts and outrebounded the Greyhounds (8-12, 3-6) by nine in the game.
Loyola trailed by 11, 40-29, at halftime, but Speed's drive, basket and foul shot got it within a one-possession game following the under-12 media timeout.
Four different Bucknell players scored on the Bison's next four possessions with a Josh Bascoe basket at 9:16 pushing the lead to 11, 57-46.
The Bison had a balanced night on the box score with six players scoring between nine and 14 points. Achile Spadone finished with a team-high 14, while Noah Williamson scored 13 and grabbed 16 rebounds.

Milos Ilic also scored in double figures for Loyola, recording 12 and 14 points, respectively.
Samuel Gibbs had a team-high six rebounds.
Loyola will be back on its home floor on Saturday, February 1, with a 2 p.m. game against Boston University.
