The Loyola University Maryland golf team will return to action after less than a one-week break for the 41st-annual Georgetown Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, October 13-14. Echo Lake Country Club will play host to the event in Westfield, New Jersey, at its 7,202-yard, par-71 course.
This year's tournament has been shortened to 36 holes due to weather conditions created by the Nor'Easter storm impacting the Mid-Atlantic coast. Weather permitting, teams will play 18 holes on Monday with a shotgun start between 10 and 11 a.m. The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday.
It is the sixth-straight year that the Greyhounds have competed in the tournament that has also been played at Liberty National Golf Club, Woodmont Country Club and Four Streams Club since 2019. Loyola won the 2021 event at Four Streams and took second in 2019 and 2022, respectively, at Four Streams and Woodmont. Last year, at Echo Lake, Loyola tied for fifth in a tournament that also featued poor weather conditions.
Last week, the Greyhounds finished ninth at its Hamtpons Intecollegaite at The Maidstone Club. Five players who were in that event will be in the lineup for Loyola this week: Jack Geyer, Liam Moloney, Diego Neira, Gustavo Rangel and Eli Spaulding.
