The Matchup
  • The Greyhounds return home to for a pair of home games this week, as they host Lafayette on Wednesday evening. 
  •  Loyola holds the edge in the series, owning a 7-3-4 record over Lafayette. The Greyhounds are 4-1-1 over the last six games against the Leopards. 
  • At Ridley, Loyola is 7-1-1 in the series, including winning the last four home games.

  • The Greyhounds 3-1-1 start to the season is their best five-game start to the season since the 2016 season, where they also started 3-1-1. 
  • Loyola's five game unbeaten streak to start Patriot League play is the longest unbeaten streak to start conference play since joining the Patriot League.

Greyhounds at Home
  • The Greyhounds posted another winning record at home during the 2024 season, tallying a 6-2-3 record at Ridley last season.

  • This season, the Greyhounds have a even goal ratio at home, scoring five goals, while allowing five goals. 
  • At home this season, Loyola is 2-2-2, while they are 3-0-4 on the road.
  • Nine wins at home in 2023 season is tied for the second most wins at home in a single-season, tying with 2005 when they finished 9-0 at home. The most wins at home came in 1996 when the Greyhounds went 11-0-1 at home. 

Greyhounds Defense
  • The Greyhounds defense has been one of the best unit's in the Patriot League this season, as they have allowed the fewest goals (8) in the conference. 
  • The Greyhounds also are ranked 22nd in Division I in goals against average, allowing 0.615 goals per game.
  • Goalkeeper Hannah Goetzer is ranked tied for first in the country in save percentage (.913) and fifth in GAA (0.444). 
  • The back line is led by Zoe Willis, Riley Kennel, Renee Wanzor, and Payton Hurley, who have each started every game and are the top four players on the team in minutes played, led by Willis with 1,159 minutes in 13 games. 
  • Kennel and Willis have added to the Greyhounds attack as well, as Kennel has two goals and an assist, while Willis has a assist on the season. 
  • In goal, the Greyhounds rotated goalies in non-conference play, and both Brigid Mulholland and Hannah Goetzer played well in goal, as they have combined for a  0.869 save percentage, 53 saves, and a 0.615 GAA this season. 
  • Loyola has also shutout six opponents this year, including a three-game shutout streak.

Scouting Lafayette
  • The Leopards come into the matchup wtih a 3-6-5 (1-2-2) record on the season and currently sit in ninth place in the Patriot League. 
  • After starting Patriot League play 1-0-2, Lafayette has lost each of their last two Patriot League games, losing to Boston 5-0 and Holy Cross 1-0. 
  • Katrina Santelli and Nadia Zafanella are tied for the team lead with four goals each, which is tied for seventh in the Patriot League this season. 
  • Catherine Apker has started in 13 games this season in goal, tallying a  .746 save percentage, 53 saves, and a 1.44 GAA, including four shutouts. 
  • Coming into the season, Lafayette was picked to finish in seventh place in the Patriot League preseason poll. 
  • Lafayette ranks ninth in the Patriot League in goals allowed (25), while Loyola ranks first with eight goals allowed. 

Quick Notes
  • The 2025 season will be the 13th season the Greyhounds have been in the Patriot League, going 37-46-28  in the Patriot League during that span, reaching the Patriot League Championships in six straight seasons, including four trips to the Semifinals. 
  • This is Head Coach Joe Mallia's second stint at the helm with the Greyhounds. During his first stint, Mallia went 87-45-9 (54-4-5, MAAC), Winning the MAAC Regular-Season Championship four times, and the MAAC Tournament Championship three times.
  • In his four season's back at the helm, Mallia has gone 44-35-25. 
  • The Greyhounds have gone 67-47-22 at home since the opening of Ridley Athletic Complex. 

Recipe for Success 
  • When scoring first this season, the Greyhounds are 4-0-2 on the season. 
  • When scoring at least one goal this season, Loyola is 5-0-3, including 4-0 when scoring multiple goals.
  • The Greyhounds have won 30 of the last 34 games in which they have scored two goals or more, which dates back to Sept. 6, 2018. Loyola was 5-1 when scoring multiple goals last season.
  • The Greyhounds are 33-2-7 when scoring first and 23-1-2 when leading at halftime since the beginning of the 2022 season.

Between The Pipes
  • After splitting games during non-conference season with Mulholland, Hannah Goetzer has started each Patriot League game, and has been one of the top goalkeepers in the country this season. 
  • Through eight games started, Goetzer has a .913 save percentage, 42 saves, and a 0.44 Goals Against Average (GAA) this season. 
  • Her save percentage ranks tied for first in all of Division I, while her 0.44 GAA ranks 5th. 
  • Goetzer leads the Patriot League in save percentage, GAA, and shutouts (5) this season, while also ranking fourth in saves per game (4.67).
