The Matchup
  • The Greyhounds will begin postseason play on Sunday afternoon, as they will travel to face 3-seed Army West Point at 1:00 PM. 
  • In their first martchup on Octboer 24, Army won 2-0 in West Point. 
  • This will be the second time the two programs have faced off in the Patriot League Championships, with the first coming in 2021, where Army won 2-1 in overtime in Baltimore.

  • The Greyhounds 3-1-1 start to the season is their best five-game start to the season since the 2016 season, where they also started 3-1-1. 
  • Loyola's six game unbeaten streak to start Patriot League play is the longest unbeaten streak to start conference play since joining the Patriot League. 
  • Loyola enters the Patriot League Championships as the sixth seed, as they have reached the Patriot League Championships for the sixth straight season and for the eighth time overall. 
  • Loyola is tied for the second most ties (8) in Division I this season. 

Greyhounds On The Road
  • The Greyhounds have found success on the road this season, as they have gone 3-1-4 on the road. 
  • Loyola has outscored their opponents 7-5 on the road this season, including recording four shutouts on the road. 
  • In four Patriot League road games this season, Loyola allowed just three goals, with two of them coming against Army in their most recent matchup. 
  • During the regular season, Loyola posted the best road winning percentage (.625) in the Patriot League. Likewise, Army posted the best home winning percentage (.813) in the Patriot League. 

Greyhounds Defense
  • The Greyhounds defense has been one of the best unit's in the Patriot League this season, as they have allowed the fewest goals (15) in the conference. 
  • The back line is led by Zoe Willis, Riley Kennel, Renee Wanzor, and Payton Hurley, who have each started every game and are the top four players on the team in minutes played, led by Willis with 1,512 minutes in 16 games. 
  • Kennel and Willis have added to the Greyhounds attack as well, as Kennel has two goals and two assists, while Willis has a assist on the season. 
  • In goal, the Greyhounds rotated goalies in non-conference play, and both Brigid Mulholland and Hannah Goetzer played well in goal, as they have combined for a  0.810 save percentage, 64 saves, and a 0.880 GAA this season. 
  • Loyola has also shutout six opponents this year, including a three-game shutout streak during the season.

Scouting Army
  • The Black Knights come into the matchup with a 11-5-2 (5-3-1) record on the season, as they earned the No. 3 Seed in the Patriot League Championships. 
  • Army is coming off of a 3-1 loss to Holy Cross in the regular season finale on Wednesday. 
  • Brigid Duffy leads Army and the Patriot League with 13 goals on the season, including seven goals in league play, with one goal coming in the last matchup against Loyola. 
  • Sophia Henry is second on the team with nine goals on the season, while Bella Conti leads the team with seven assists. 
  • Between the pipes, Karalyn Dall has started all 18 games this season, tallying a .744 save percentage, 61 saves, and a 1.27 GAA. 
  • In their last matchup, Army outshot Loyola 14-2, which was the lowest for Loyola this season.

Quick Notes
  • The 2025 season will be the 13th season the Greyhounds have been in the Patriot League, going 37-48-29  in the Patriot League during that span, reaching the Patriot League Championships in six straight seasons, including four trips to the Semifinals. 
  • This is Head Coach Joe Mallia's second stint at the helm with the Greyhounds. During his first stint, Mallia went 87-45-9 (54-4-5, MAAC), Winning the MAAC Regular-Season Championship four times, and the MAAC Tournament Championship three times.
  • In his four season's back at the helm, Mallia has gone 44-37-26. 
  • The Greyhounds have gone 67-48-23 at home since the opening of Ridley Athletic Complex. 

Recipe for Success 
  • When scoring first this season, the Greyhounds are 4-0-4 on the season. 
  • When scoring at least one goal this season, Loyola is 5-0-5, including 4-0 when scoring multiple goals.
  • The Greyhounds have won 30 of the last 34 games in which they have scored two goals or more, which dates back to Sept. 6, 2018. Loyola was 5-1 when scoring multiple goals last season.
  • The Greyhounds are 33-2-9 when scoring first and 23-1-2 when leading at halftime since the beginning of the 2022 season.
  • Loyola has experienced success on the road this season, posting a 3-1-4 record on the season. In those eight games, the Greyhounds have allowed just five goals. 

Between The Pipes
  • After splitting games during non-conference season with Mulholland, Hannah Goetzer has started each Patriot League game, and has been one of the top goalkeepers in the country this season. 
  • Through 13 games started, Goetzer has a .828 save percentage, 53 saves, and a 0.850 Goals Against Average (GAA) this season. 
  • Prior to Colgate, her save percentage ranked third in all of Division I, while her 0.50 GAA ranked 6th. 
  • Goetzer is second the Patriot League in save percentage and GAA this season.
