BOSTON — Loyola University Maryland's men's soccer team scored in the first half to tie the game at 1-1 but ultimately fell 4–1 to Boston University at Nickerson Field in Patriot League action.

The Greyhounds (2–7–1, 1–3–0 Patriot League) struck early to even the match and battled throughout, displaying resilience and composure against one of the league's top offenses.

Junior midfielder Tyler Tucker delivered Loyola's lone goal in the 19th minute — his first of the season — finishing a well-built play assisted by Steven Ozga and Jack Endacott. The goal capped off a good Loyola sequence, as Endacott's cross into the box found Ozga, who tapped it to Tucker for the goal. 

Boston University (7–3–0, 3–1–0) responded with a pair of goals before halftime, as they took a 3-1 halftime lead.

Loyola kept pace in the second half, outshooting the Terriers 4–3 over the final 45 minutes and earning three corner kicks. Richie Nichols and Nicholas Tururro both tested the Boston goalkeeper, while Loyola's defensive unit — led by Ryan Andrews and Jahvar Stephenson — absorbed sustained attacking runs and limited Boston's late chances.

The Greyhounds will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they travel to face Hofstra to close out non-conference play.
