The Matchup
  • The Greyhounds return on the road on Sunday afternoon, as they travel up to Connecticut to face Yale.
  • This will be the first matchup between the two programs, and the first matchup against a Ivy League foe since 2019 when they faced Dartmouth.

Quick Hits
  • Loyola features an experienced squad this year, as Loyola features nine upperclassmen on the roster, combining to play over 500 career games.
  • Lex Therien, Cristina Garcia, and Kimmie Hicks all return to the team this year after suffering season-ending injuries last season.
  • The Greyhounds will face all but two Division I teams in the state of Maryland this season, starting with #10 Maryland.

Non-Conference Outlook
  • Non-conference play opened the season with No. 10 Maryland on November 3, where they fell 80-26.
  • Loyola hosted La Salle for their home opener, but fell 71-59. Loyola began a two-game trip to Virginia where they lost to Virginia Tech 64-48. Loyola then fell to Radord 59-50 on Tuesday.
  • The Greyhounds remained on the road to take on Drexel in Philadelphia, where they fell 66-57, before returning home to face Mount St. Mary's, losing 69-50.

  • Three players are averaging double-digits this season, led by Ciniya Moore, who is averaging 15.8 points. Kiley Capstraw is second on the team, averaging 14.0 points, while Luisa Vydroa is averaging 10.6 points.
  • Capstraw missed Yale's last game against Providence.

  • The Bulldogs have had double-digit offensive rebounds in all but one game this season (Quinipiac), including a season-best 17 against Northeastern.
  • In the Ivy League Preseason Poll, the Bulldogs were picked to finish in last place.

On The Mend
  • Lex Therien, Cristina Garcia, and Kimmie Hicks all return to the Greyhounds this season after missing most of last year due to injuries.
  • Therien enters her fifth year with Loyola after appearing in just three games last season. A four-time Patriot League Preseason All-League nominee, she has averaged 14.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game on 49.9% shooting over her career.
  • Garcia played in 10 games last season, starting nine, before missing the remainder of the year. She has appeared in 62 career games and looks to take on a larger role in her final season with Loyola.
  • Hicks was enjoying a breakout sophomore campaign, averaging 14.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game over nine appearances.

Worth Noting
  • Last season, Lex Therien became the fifth player in program history to record 1,000 career rebounds. She is also one of just five players in program history to reach both 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
  • Therien enters this season ranked seventh in career points (1,361), second in field goals made (569), and fifth in total rebounds (1,006), while holding the program record for rebounds per game (10.8). She also owns three of the top five single-season rebounding marks in program history.
  • Koi Sims posted the fourth-best single-season rebounding total last year, collecting 307 boards. She finished just three offensive rebounds shy of breaking the program's single-season record.
