The Matchup
  • The Greyhounds return to Reitz Arena on Wednesday afternoon as they will host Delaware in a non-conference matchup. 
  • This will be the sixth meeting between the two programs, with Delaware winning each of the first five meetings.

Quick Hits 
  • Loyola features an experienced squad this year, as Loyola features nine upperclassmen on the roster, combining to play over 500 career games. 
  • Lex Therien, Cristina Garcia, and Kimmie Hicks all return to the team this year after suffering season-ending injuries last season. 
  • The Greyhounds will face all but two Division I teams in the state of Maryland this season, starting with #10 Maryland.  

Non-Conference Outlook
  • Non-conference play opened the season with No. 10 Maryland on November 3, where they fell 80-26.
  • Loyola hosted La Salle for their home opener, but fell 71-59. Loyola began a two-game trip to Virginia where they lost to Virginia Tech 64-48. Loyola then fell to Radord 59-50 on Tuesday.
  • The Greyhounds remained on the road to take on Drexel in Philadelphia, where they fell 66-57, before returning home to face Mount St. Mary's, losing 69-50.
  • Loyola then traveled to Yale on November 23, winning 73-48. They will head into Thanksgiving with a home matchup against Delaware on November 26.
  • The Greyhounds wrap up non-conference play with a trio of local opponents: Towson on December 4, UMBC on December 9, and Morgan State at home on December 21.

Scouting Delaware
  • Delaware comes into the game with a 2-2 record on the season, coming off of a 68-57 win over American on November 17. 
  • Two of their four games this year have come against Patriot League foes, which includes a 68-61 loss to Navy on November 7. 
  • The Blue Hens are led by Lay Fantroy, who is averaging 14.0 points per game. Three other players are averaging double-figures this season, including Kaailah Correa (13.2 ppg), Ande'a Cherisier (11.3 ppg), and Trnity Vance (10.8 ppg). 
  • Fantroy leads the team in rebounds, averaging 11.8 per game, including four offensive rebounds per game. 
  • As a team, they are averaging 69.5 points on 40 percent shooting, while allowing 64.2 points on 30 percent shooting.
  • The Blue Hens were picked to finish in 11th place, only above Jax State, as they earned 36 points in the poll.  

On The Mend
  • Lex Therien, Cristina Garcia, and Kimmie Hicks all return to the Greyhounds this season after missing most of last year due to injuries.
  • Therien enters her fifth year with Loyola after appearing in just three games last season. A four-time Patriot League Preseason All-League nominee, she has averaged 14.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game on 49.9% shooting over her career.
  • Garcia played in 10 games last season, starting nine, before missing the remainder of the year. She has appeared in 62 career games and looks to take on a larger role in her final season with Loyola.
  • Hicks was enjoying a breakout sophomore campaign, averaging 14.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game over nine appearances.

More On Therien
  • Last season, Lex Therien became the fifth player in program history to record 1,000 career rebounds. She is also one of just five players in program history to reach both 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
  • Therien enters this season ranked seventh in career points (1,361), second in field goals made (569), and fifth in total rebounds (1,006), while holding the program record for rebounds per game (10.8). She also owns three of the top five single-season rebounding marks in program history.
  • In the Greyhounds win over Yale, Therien recorded her 50th career double-double, which leads all active Division I players this season.
