The Matchup

The Greyhounds will host La Salle on Thursday evening for their home opener in Reitz Arena.
This will be the eighth matchup between the two programs and the first meeting since 2010, where La Salle won in Baltimore.
La Salle holds the edge in the series, 4-3, winning their last two meetings in Reitz Arena.

Non-Conference Outlook

Non-conference play opened the season with No. 10 Maryland on November 3, where they fell 80-26.
Loyola will then host La Salle on November 6 for its home opener, followed by a two-game trip to Virginia to face Virginia Tech and Radford.
The Greyhounds will remain on the road to take on Drexel in Philadelphia before returning home to face Mount St. Mary's on November 20.
Loyola then travels to Yale on November 23 and heads into Thanksgiving with a home matchup against Delaware on November 26.
The Greyhounds wrap up non-conference play with a trio of local opponents: Towson on December 4, UMBC on December 9, and Morgan State at home on December 21.

Scouting La Salle

La Salle opens their 2025-26 season on Thursday night in Baltimore.
The Explorers are coming off of a 2024-25 season where they went 10-23 (4-15) on the season.
La Salle returns both of their returning leading scorers from last season in Ashleigh Connor (10.8 ppg) and Aryss Macktoon (10.6 ppg).
Macktoon is also the returning rebounds leader (5.0) from last years' team.
As a team, La Salle averaged 56.6 points per game on 36.5 percent shooting last season, while allowing 66.9 points on 43.4 percent shooting.
Entering the season, the Explorers were picked to finish in 12th in the A-10 after receiving 56 points in the poll.

On The Mend

Lex Therien, Cristina Garcia, and Kimmie Hicks all return to the Greyhounds this season after missing most of last year due to injuries.
Therien enters her fifth year with Loyola after appearing in just three games last season. A four-time Patriot League Preseason All-League nominee, she has averaged 14.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game on 49.9% shooting over her career.
Garcia played in 10 games last season, starting nine, before missing the remainder of the year. She has appeared in 62 career games and looks to take on a larger role in her final season with Loyola.
Hicks was enjoying a breakout sophomore campaign, averaging 14.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game over nine appearances.

Worth Noting

Last season, Lex Therien became the fifth player in program history to record 1,000 career rebounds. She is also one of just five players in program history to reach both 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
Therien enters this season ranked seventh in career points (1,361), second in field goals made (569), and fifth in total rebounds (1,006), while holding the program record for rebounds per game (10.8). She also owns three of the top five single-season rebounding marks in program history.
Koi Sims posted the fourth-best single-season rebounding total last year, collecting 307 boards. She finished just three offensive rebounds shy of breaking the program's single-season record.
