MEDIA, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland swept all three doubles matches and won five of six on the singles side Saturday, as the Greyhounds beat host Swarthmore College, 6-1.
Lauren Manwiller and
Emma Roeck topped Kathleen Shiffer and Nathalie Williams, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles, and
Jessica Bodewes paired with
Christine Richiez for a 6-1 vicotry against Erin Li an dBrianne Viets at No. 2
Emi Shivkumar and
Jocelyn Assael knocked off Ella Strickler and Riya Rao, 6-4, at No. 3 doubles.
Richiez opened the singles matches with a three-set win over Williams at No. 1, winning 46, 6-4, (10-5). Manewiller also used three sets for a victory against Li, 6-3, 3-6, (10-7), at No. 2..
Elena Hartley topped Shiffer, 7-5, 6-1, in the No. 3 match, and
Mia Matriccino was an 8-3 victor against Viets at No. 4. Roeck took down Strickler, 8-4, in a No. 5 singles match, but Lisa Messier was the Garnet's lone winner, edging Bodewes, 8-7 (3), at No. 6.
