Opening Draw
  • Loyola is back on the road, as they will travel to face No. 16 Princeton on Sunday afternoon.
  • The Greyhounds have won the last three matchups, including a 20-10 win at Princeton in 2023.  
  • This will be the 21st meeting between the two teams, with Princeton leading the series, 12-8.
  • In the Preseason Patriot League Poll, American was picked to finish in 6th place.     
  • Georgia Latch, Chase Boyle, Lily Osborne, and Lauren Spence all won Preseason major awards from the Patriot League, as they won Preseason Attacker, Midfielder, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Year respectively. 
  • Chase Boyle became the third Greyhound to be named as a Tewaaraton finalist. Joining Grace Gavin and Suzanne Eyler. 
  • Jen Adams is back for her 17th season at the helm of the Greyhounds, as they have compiled a 58-9 record since the beginning of the 2022 season, which includes five NCAA Tournament wins.

Patriot League Preseason honors
  • The Greyhounds were picked to repeat as Patriot League Champions, as Loyola has won a NCAA Division I record 84 straight regular season conference games.
  • Loyola also swept the Preseason Major Awards, as Georgia Latch, Chase Boyle, Lily Osborne, and Lauren Spence were all named as the Preseason Attacker, Midfielder, Defensive Player, and Goalkeeper of the Year, respectively.

Greyhounds at Home
  • The Greyhounds have thrived at home, as they have posted a 58-2 record at home since the beginning of the 2019 season.
  • They have gone undefeated at home in 2019, 2022, and 2024. 
  • In Jen Adams tenure, the Greyhounds have gone 102-26 at home. 

Record Tracking
  • Chase Boyle comes off of a 2024 season where she broke the single-season program record for goals (85) and draw controls (208)
  • Boyle also broke the Patriot League draw control record, that was set by Jillian Wilson's (198), in 2023. 
  • Boyle is 53 goals shy of becoming the new program career-leader in goals, as well as 149 draw controls from the program record. 
  • Georgia Latch is now 18 assists shy of having the second most assists in a career, behind only Rosenzweig. She is also just 38 points shy of trailing only Rosenzweig in career points. 
  • Latch has recorded at least 38 goals and assists in each of her three seasons, and has seen increases in goals and points over the last two seasons.  

Scouting Princeton
  • Princeton comes into the matchup having lost their season opener, 13-11, against No. 8 Virginia last Saturday. 
  • McKenzie Blake led the way for the Tigers in the opener, as she scored 6 goals against Virginia. Haven Dora recorded five points, as she had a goal and four assists in the loss. 
  • Blake recorded 11 shots in the game, with each of them being on goal. 
  • Maggie Molnar had a team-high four draw controls, as Prineton won just 8 of 28 draw controls in the game. 
  • The Tigers recorded two green cards and three yellow cards in their opener, including three penalites in the fourth quarter. 
  • In goal, Amelia Hughes played 52 of 60 minutes, as she recorded 10 saves in the game. Elizabeth Gonnellas played six minutes in the game, recording a pair of saves during her time. 
  • The Tigers were picked to finish in third place in the Ivy League Preseason Poll, behind Yale and Penn, as Princeton received one first place vote. 
  • Princeton is coming off of a 2024 season where they finished 11-7 (6-1), as they lost to Penn in the Ivy League Semifinals. They earned a at-large bid, where they won their first round game against Drexel, before losing to eventual National Champion Boston College in the second round. 

More on Spence
  • Lauren Spence enters her third season as the starting goalkeeper for the Greyhounds. 
  • In her career, she has posted a 7.95 goals against average, a .485 save percentage, and 316 career saves. 
  • She has also posted a 38-7 record over the past three seasons, as she enters the 2025 season with the fifth most wins in a career, as she trails the most wins in a career in program history by just 8 wins.    

Dominance From The Circle
  • The Greyhounds ended the 2024 season as the No. 3 ranked team in NCAA Division I in draw control percentage, winning 67.5 percent of their draws. 
  • Loyola has finished in the top-five for draw control percentage in each of the last four seasons.
  • Chase Boyle had a huge season from the circle in 2024, as she set the Loyola and Patriot League record with 208 draw controls. Boyle recorded more draw controls herself than all of the Greyhounds opponents combined.
  • Boyle finished ranked for fifth in Division I in draw controls per game, as she is averaging 9.9.  
  • Loyola currently ranks in the top-10 in draw controls per game and draw control percentage, as Boyle also ranks in the top-10.  
  • The Greyhounds have relied on a next women up in the circle and have had success with it, in large part due to assistant coach Dana Dobbie, who coaches the draw and is a big reason to their success.
