Braeden Speed was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the third time this season on Monday after averaging 12.5 points in a pair of Greyhounds games.
Speed, a freshman from Phoenix, Arizona, shot 63.6 percent from the field in the two games and was 10 of 13 from the free-throw line.
He scored 13 in a win over Boston University on Saturday in a game when he also pulled down a career-high nine rebounds. Speed went 4 of 8 from the field against the Terriers and had three assists, a block and a steal.
Speed opened the week with a 12-point game against Bucknell on Wednesday night to go with two assists, two blocked shots and a steal.
This season, Speed has started all 21 games for the Greyhounds (9-12 overall, 4-6 Patriot League), averaging 8.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steal.
Loyola will continue Patriot League action on Wednesday, February 5, with a 7 p.m. game at Lafayette College.
